Is this game for the iPad only? No iPhone version?

Fun game with lots of modes. Maybe a slight technicality, but the strategy mode that supposedly let's you take your time, really doesn't as the score multiplier drops if you are not quickly making matches. Not sure if that is intentional.

Sort of a memory matching, same game with power ups thrown in.

Another quality FDG app. I'm enjoying being at the top of leader boards. I suspect I'll be bumped before too long.

Default Nice to see it's out!

Hi, Marc-André here... I am the developer of ThingyBlox HD.

It's really great to see that the game is in the store now.
It is the first casual game that I made. It started with a quick prototype for the "Experimental Gameplay" project (theme was "100 things"). Because many people around me liked it, I decided to build a full game around of the core idea. And after quite some polishing, I am very pleased with the final quality of the gameplay, the graphics and the interface.

So, I hope everyone who plays it has tons of fun – see you on the leaderboards!!

Hey Gang,

I've only had a few minutes with it so far, but it is pretty cute.

It's essentially another "Same Game" (click on a square and all adjacent like colored blocks will also be destroyed with bigger groups being worth progressively more points, i.e. one set of 6 blocks is worth MUCH MUCH more than two sets of 3 blocks) with a unique twist! Every turn the game will call a specific category that you MUST match but are free to click on any of the many tiles on the board that meets that broad category (face, animal, sporting equipment, etc.). You also are rewarded for acting quickly so, ideally, you want to click on these groupings as quickly as possible to keep up your score multiplier but still do so in a strategic manner so as to setup some really huge same colored groupings (as is the standard strategy in any Same Game).

The game has a number of modes (timed and untimed) and difficulty levels to choose from (effectively dictating number of different colored blocks, categories, etc.).

The only issue I noted so far is, like another player pointed out, even though Strategy is supposed to be an untimed mode (you can take as much time as you want for each move), the bonus multiplier is still based on quickly you can make the matches. This could be intentional as it is true that you never need to worry about losing the game because you ran out of time, needing to act quickly to maintain the multiplier makes it feel like it is still a timed mode.

Something else I just caught today about the game!

Something else too cool about this game is how the cascades work after making a move!

If after removing your selected group of blox, blox in another color grouping also have blox move and that group has an item that fits the search, that group will also removed (if that makes any sense). Even cooler is even if the initial group didn't cause much of a disturbance in the field, if a cascaded reaction shakes stuff up it can initiate another automatic reaction. So ideally you'll want to clear a group that will cause movement in other big clusters of a single color.
