Why is it so huge?
Why is it so expensive

In-app purchases of tiny, ancient ROMs is somewhat offensive to me. And I'm one of those who bought the entire Atari hits collection sight unseen.

This-- and giant file sizes for tiny, ancient ROMs. I don't understand why this is so huge. I'm not even going to try looking at it/considering the IAP unless they can shrink this down at least 75%. I like Galaga, but 130mb is pretty significant retail estate on my iPod.

I just downloaded it. I like it. it plays just like the old arcade game, and I've been playing this game since as long as I can remember.

Game Impressions

Only thing I'm sure of so far: the included free version of Galaxian is glorious. Contrary to the post above, it's nothing like the original arcade game which was a lot slower paced and did not have rapid fire. This version of Galaxian actually feels more like Galaga, which actually is a Good Thing.

You're able to buy consumable ship and score upgrades with points you accumulate from playing. I have SO FAR been unable to find an option to purchase those with real money but would imagine it's planned, if not hidden away somewhere in the game options already. Obviously this is a concern.

Not sure really at this point which course of action to take. 3 game pack is $10 AUD and it's $13 AUD to buy the games separately. If Galaxian is a true indication the rest are well worth the cash. Then again if consumables are purchasable with real money or will be in the future I'd rather just not have anything to do with it. And then again I don't particularly care about online leaderboards with something like this but rather just reliving some memories. And then yet again I'd much rather pay $10 for this as an app than through IAP.

I think I'm just going to go play Galaxian some more for now. You should too. At the least.

Interesting comment given that iPod Touch 2 was faster than iPhone 3G.

Reckon I'll check this one out.
