Default Newest Most online 1,900 & 8,000 active members!

Wow. TA has certainly picked up growth very rapidly. I guess it's just one of those days, but TA has hit yet another record number of online members. According to the little box at the bottom, which says:

Quote:
Most users ever online was 561, Today at 06:52 PM.
We have had over 500 people online at the same time. Not that many in retrospect, but still, a fair number.

I remember in November when the record was under 200. Average on couldn't have been more than 100

I think I remember that. Even though I joined in December, I remeber browsing early November. That number seems right.

The number is a little misleading.. the number of the most online members is still under 200. The other 300+ are guests/lurkers.

True, but still, that is a lot of growth. But yes, that includes guests. Who will likely become members eventually. To post about something, or download a file.

well, consistent though. as it always measures that way.

It's surprising. MacRumors took years to hit those numbers. Interesting too, as 500-1000 is where we started running into server growth issues. So, I'll keep an eye on that.

You know, I just realized the other day that I was signed up for MacRumors, back from February of last year, just never posted and forgot about it.

Surprising? the number of apps has tripled since December.. I would guess the number online will double before the end of the year just like the app store. You have the best touch game site on the web.. people will find it.

Believe default is within a 5 minute period active users...just jack that puppy to 60 minutes and you'll blow it outta the water like some forums do. But seriously though I think 15 minutes would be a reasonable adjustment.
