ikendu (clone of kenken)

edit: ikendu was renamed to 2DOKU and Latkin has come out...see posts later in thread for links.

You guys know Will Shortz that was on 60 mins who is the editor / approves all the New York Time Puzzles. He likes kenken quite a bit here is proof

About little under a year ago he started promoting this game called kenken that is pretty fun. I have it for my nintendo ds but it's in Japanese so not intuitive for those who don't know Japanese navigating around that is. Official one came out awhile ago but you had to have a Japanese itunes account to play.

Anyway here is a decent clone or so it appears of kenken.com. You can play online flash version. I posted about kenken in this post back in beginning of March.

ikendu $3 with 100 puzzles (10 3x3, 40 4x4, 40 5x5 and 10 6x6 puzzles)
ikendu lite version 3 3x3, 1 4x4, 1 5x5, no 6x6 though)

Game is pretty good as some puzzles you can mix up addition, subtraction, division and multiplication. There is always only one solution in kenken (shout out to Donburns99). For those who've played Kakuro (favorite app for that in appstore is Plantinum Sudoku by Gameloft) then it's a pretty easy transition as much of the same logic is used to solve the puzzles.

Never heard of KenKen, but it does catch my interest.

Looking in the iTunes store, it no longer seems to exist though.

@mrbass - Have you tried KenSquared? It mentions having randomly generated puzzles, for only $0.99.

Web Designer & Developer since 1999.

Games I highly recommend: CozyQuest, Gemmed, Jabeh, Blue Defense, Blue Attack, geoDefense, Hospital Havoc

No he is not been robbed You know why it is possible to program automatic sudoku or kenken generation software? Because they both based on a mathematical structure, which is not created by man (but discovered), which is universally!! Maybe this japanese man discovered it first, but others have also the right to build upon this special mathematical structure.

Thanks Donburns99 I bought KenSquared right away unfornuately those reviews on appstore do not lie. Multiple solutions..in all the official kenken books or even online flash ones you'll never ever see a multiple solution puzzle. In fact, my very first puzzle I tried with kensquared is multiple solution sigh.. iKendu has 100 puzzles but only one solution exists. At this point I wish I was a programmer so I knew what the predicament is as to why you can't generate puzzles with only one solution. It's driving me mentally crazy just thinking about it.
