Before I had an ipad, I could not think of a single reason why I'd need one since I already have an iphone 4. Then I impulse bought an ipad 2. Now I hardly ever touch my iphone when I'm at home, and when I'm out and about, I actually miss my ipad when I'm using my iphone.
Such is the way of the oversized iphone phenom. |

I'd definitely buy (again) the Exile and Avernum games for the iPad. I might buy remakes for Windows too, but not quite as likely. And I'm hoping for the Eschalon games to hit the iPad. They seem well suited for iOS. |

![]() Well...I know, I had one and probably will buy another one for my wife when OS5 will be out (or I'll wait for iPad 3). But in all honesty, as nice as it is, I didn't use it that much, relaying almost exclusively on my iPhone, even at home. In bed it wasn't that handy, nor for playing nor for reading...especially for playing when both hands are required (and I got tired after some time holding it with one hand lying in bed). But maybe it's just me or my 'laying habits' ![]() I must admit that some exclusive iPad games (Avadon and some other adventures like Drawn) will probably make me more willing to buy another one (you know...a gift for my wife... )One BIG problem, I hope soon solved with iCloud, was the fact that games, when Universal, weren't synced too. |

QUOTE ... Right now, we have every plan to port all of our future games to that platform. it is very unlikely that we will port older titles, though. Right now, we have no plans to write games for the iPhone/iPod Touch. We don't think the sort of games we write would work well on that small a screen. ... END QUOTE In the mail, they firmly ruled out the option of an Android port too (not that I was interested). |

Hi there,
I have played Avadon right now for more than 6 hours - and I am really, really enjoying it. Strong story, intersting and long quests - and a lot to discover. The only thing I really don't like, that even in the first quests, there are riddles (namley: finding very hidden switches), which are a little hard to find on the iPad. Everything else is just fantastic. And yes: this game resembles a lot two all time greats of the RPG Genre: Baldurs Gate and Planescape Torment. Struan |

![]() I understand where you're coming from, though. On the desktop version you can actually mod the game so the hidden switches are more visible; maybe that's something a cheat code could do in the future. At any rate, you don't have to play the find the hidden switches game if you don't want to. Think of it as something for those players who enjoy examining the scenery in detail, as opposed to something you're missing out on. With very few exceptions where the game is very obvious about a switch having to be somewhere nearby, they don't lead to anything particularly interesting; the fun in them is supposed to be actually finding them, and if that is not fun for you I would just ignore them. |

2. Uh I don't really think this game works like that. He is planning on porting his other games over though. |

I have barely scratched the surface of the game (have only played about 20 minutes
), but I have a question about the textures. I have a 1st gen iPad, and when I got into the courtyard of the fortress, the game warned me that memory was low and that it was loading a reduced texture set (which it did). I brought up the multitasking bar and closed up all other apps. At the time, I couldn't find a way to reload the more detailed textures. I saved my game and then fully quit out of the app. When I reloaded, the detailed textures were back. What I want to know is, is there a way to do this from the game without quitting?

Grabbed it for both Mac and iPad, even though I'll probably only play it on one, and still haven't finished Geneforge 5. |
