My two cents on this game. I bought it and played about 4 hours, competed the dungeon section. Overall feels like a very good game, has obvious porting from a desk top computer feel to it, a bit retro too.
It's worth a buy to some it up if you are into old school style RPG's. There are some small issues I have with it, it's to do with polish/refinement of the interface and game asserts. The character animations feel very clunky, they are like two or three fames for walking? Interface feels small for the iPad, I got fat fingers. Text is small, I think there is a button to make thinks bigger. Dialogue selection is not initially obvious, there's no buttons to press, it's actually touching the text. Running around and scrolling ahead is annoying. It snaps back to player after movement is selected. A suggestion is that the if player and place to move to is in view, that rather than a snap, a gradual slide to mid point of both, which will end up the same. That's it for now, do the devs read here? |

I'm more than a little frustrated with the combat. Unless I'm missing something, there's no way to scroll in or out. During battles, I have the unfortunate habit of hitting the square next to the one I'm aiming for, you know, the one with the mob on it. This happens alot when there are mutliple mobs grouped together in a small area.
The problem is I walk over to that empty square and i'm stuck there; there's no undo button and mobs have a movement reducing effect, so you can't move away from them. I've had this happen enough thhat I've stopped playing the game for now. Hopefully the developers will address this in the future. Its not as though i have the precision control of a mouse to use here. |

I personally didn't like the touch controls for this game either. However, I've found it useful to use a stylus when I want more precise control in some games (also, constant tapping makes my finger sore). A good stylus for precise tapping control is the Pogo Sketch. Just don't tap really hard, the tip will wear out.

I finally got around to playing this, but I'm stuck at the end of the first dungeon. I've tracked down the missing prisoners, I think so at least, and I've gone back to the warden... but how do I get out of the place itself?
I can't see any way out of the level. Thanks! |
