This is all I could find on spiderweb's forums about any iPhone ports: "Originally Posted By: 15th March Newsletter * What Else Is Coming? After a decade, Avernum is showing its age and very much in need of freshening up, with a new engine and graphics. (As well as a long overdue appearance on the iPhone.) But don't worry! This will only be a several month detour for us before we get back to writing all-new games." |

Nice! Hopefully they'll hold true to a now three month old newsletter blurb; fingers crossed. I appreciate the info search.

If I remember right I think it has 4 levels of difficulty and from what the dev has said no one should have an issue beating the game on normal. Had I known this I would have started on a higher level. Also yes 30 or so hours to beat the game but it's supposed to have a lot of replayabilty.

I wrote directly to Jeff Vogel.
Keep your finger crossed!!! (or better, to anyone interested in a iPhone port, which probably would require some UI rework to be feasible and readable...LET SPIDERWEB SOFTWARE KNOW via their site you want give your money!!! )

I do believe my first Spiderweb game was Exile: Escape from the Pit in 1995. I remember being interested in Nethergate when it came out but never got around to playing it....there was a span of several years where I was too busy with school to play much of anything. Spiderweb makes big, complex, old-school RPGs with lots of storyline. I hear they have actually added some more modern RPG conventions to this game to make it more approachable for people that have less experience with games of this sort. I'm sure I will end up picking this up. My only hesitation is whether or not I will actually put in the time to play it. And even then, I'll probably get it just to support its development. |
