This is all I could find on spiderweb's forums about any iPhone ports:

We are also slowly starting work on a ground-up rewrite of Avernum, which is itself a rewrite of our first title, Exile: Escape From the Pit. After a decade, Avernum is showing its age and very much in need of freshening up, with a new engine and graphics. (As well as a long overdue appearance on the iPhone.) But don't worry! This will only be a several month detour for us before we get back to writing all-new games."

Favorite mobile RTS: Autumn Dynasty, Amoebattle & Red Conquest
Great TBS/SRPGs: Wesnoth, Battle Academy, Kingturn, Pantheon Cycle, Dungeon Crawlers, SW&E, Viking Lords, Metal Brigade Tactics, Tactical Soldier, Ravenmark, Tactics Maiden and Banner Saga

Nice! Hopefully they'll hold true to a now three month old newsletter blurb; fingers crossed. I appreciate the info search.

If I remember right I think it has 4 levels of difficulty and from what the dev has said no one should have an issue beating the game on normal. Had I known this I would have started on a higher level. Also yes 30 or so hours to beat the game but it's supposed to have a lot of replayabilty.

Chance for an iPhone version?

Hi, you seemed to be lost on the Internets.
This is TouchArcade, where 2$ for a game is too much, 5$ is an outrage, and 10$ or more is putting sugar in their car tanks whilst killing puppies.

Heya, Marcus, nice to see you in these parts.

I do believe my first Spiderweb game was Exile: Escape from the Pit in 1995. I remember being interested in Nethergate when it came out but never got around to playing it....there was a span of several years where I was too busy with school to play much of anything.

Spiderweb makes big, complex, old-school RPGs with lots of storyline. I hear they have actually added some more modern RPG conventions to this game to make it more approachable for people that have less experience with games of this sort.

I'm sure I will end up picking this up. My only hesitation is whether or not I will actually put in the time to play it. And even then, I'll probably get it just to support its development.
