It has the same amount of ram as my iPhone 4 did...about 360mb with nothing running except the phone and email.

Lol no way how many tweaks do you have dude?! I know you know what you're doing when it comes to idevices. You should have twice that. My mom averages 220 mb of ram on her 4th gen iPod touch. Have you tried downloading a memory clearer upper thing from cydia? It rearranges your stuff and gives you more ram.

If anyone wants to know how to put their GSM iPhone on prepaid here's how.

1. Go to Walmart and buy the cheapest possible AT&T gophone they have.
2. Buy $50 in gophone credit
3. Take the sim card out of the gophone package you just purchased and DO NOT put it into anything just yet.
4. Activate the sim on the att gophone site, use all 0's for the imei
5. Select the. $50/month unlimited plan
6. Put sim into iPhone
7. Enjoy.

Thats impressive for a device with 256 RAM total. what firmware is that on?
on my 3gs which has the same ram as the 4th gen touch best I can get is 135 with no tweaks installed. How do you get more, do you kill some daemons or is it just some memory hack

Yeah, as the above response says, there's no way you could get that much on an iPod Touch o_O

On a vanilla device it's around 110. After some JB tweaks it is pretty bad, like 70. Then I have to delete launch daemons to get it back up to even 100.

It used to be around 110-120 in iOS4.2.1, then 90-100 in 4.3.5, both without deleting any daemons. iOS5 seems to take up even more, maybe because of notification center?

Yeah maybe you're right. I thought it was more ram than that but obviously I'm wrong. I do know there are Cydia tweaks that will free up some ram on your device though...

I have a 2g ipod touch.

If I jailbreak it to upgrade the software to 5.0, would I be able to run apps that only work on 5.0? like for example, would i able to play Pizza vs. Skeletons?

also, would I still be able to purchase apps from the iTunes store?
