Also SBsettings appears, even though I have it on hide icon. Is it ok to delete the 4 apps, or is there a way to hide them? I don't want to delete SBsettings, and the apps don't appear in the hide apps section of SBSettings.
Whenever I end up with a white icon (about 3 times since absinthe arrived) I just respring, fixes it straight away. I would suggest unhiding the apps via sbsettings then rehiding them if respring doesnt work. possibly removing and reinstalling sbsettings as a last resort

If none of that works probably some incompatibility with a tweak you have installed, thats when your fun begins trying to find out which.

Slayergramps I'm happy you were able to solve your issue. Due to the problem occurring after downloading a Cydia app I figured the only way to possibly fix your phone would be to ssh into it and edit a plist file that had most likely had a value changed from true to false. Wasnt sure exactly which file it would be so I suggested a restore since that solves 99% of people's problems. As for your other question the white apps that appear randomly are still apps that are on your phone. The icon just turns white for some reason. A respring always fixes it for me.

If you mean icons are being generated and your sbsettings is showing up...thats definitely a conflict between something you have installed on Cydia. Like lumosinner said we can't just give you an exact answer to a problem none of us have ran into. You're gonna have to track down what's causing the issue...

I've seen this issue pop up several times for people on iFans...haven't seen a solution to it yet except to just stuff the icons away somewhere. I think it's some kind of conflict introduced in iOS5 with SBsettings, because it never happened before.

Thanks for the help guys, I knew about the respringing method, and I have resprung for a while. I was just wondering if they had a way to get rid of it. I think it probably is a conflict.

Thanks for the help.

Did anyone try Absinthe for iPhone 4S iOS 5.0.1? How did it go, any bugs? It's untethered right?

Yes I'm running it right now. Aside from the white icons (which can be fixed by a respring) it's working perfectly and yes it's untethered.
