Sorry for being a noob but during multiplayer matches can you use the SP button to assist you? For example, using it to do a Hadouken when playing as Ryu instead of Down-Forward+Punch. Personally, I prefer to do it manually but if the SP assist is available in multiplayer matches, I don't want to waste my time doing that if I can get beat by someone who just spams that one button. Thanks for any help. I would check myself but I'm unable to connect to a match at the moment.

There's actually a video or two of Daigo playing sf4 on the iOS.

Lol did anyone battle a bunch of people who basically just stood/crouched there for the entire battle and won't move until you attack? I battled a Chun-Li, Cammy, Ryu, and Ken who simply did that to waste time since I was using Honda who didn't have any ranged attacks. Their strategy was to uppercut if I jumped/headbutt/sumo slam/focus attack, so I was barely able to get close to them. Not unlike vanilla iPhone SF4's dojo match against a "defensive Guile". About as cheap as fireball spammers if you ask me.

Ken's jumpkick-target-upper lands 299 dmg. The most I can get off a target-upper-super-ultra is 609, and the timing for it is pretty challenging.

Against ryu, I find ken needs to land at least 3-4 sets of combos to win a match, along with a lot of poking with kicks. With ryu, 2-3 sets of combos, along with a few fireball-srk traps, is enough to win.

Ryu's versaility with his super-ultra is really really useful.
Hmm, I see. Sounds like the game is just generally imbalanced, at least in some aspects. A shame. I've never managed to conciliate myself with Ruy's character and personality, and would by far prefer to play as Ken

I think that was one of the reasons Focus Attacks were introduced into SF4; it was harder to get in close in the past, esp into low-kick-fireball walls (aside from parrying). there's always focus-dashback to fake them out too. presents a different sort of challenge.

Focus will get through a cannonspike/cannon drill, as well as ryu's SRK half the time. not sure what I would do against ken though. maybe lowkick-headbutts. or squats on his head.

I fought a Ken last night who behaved like that - it was very unnerving. I was expecting him to let slip the dogs of war in the second round, but it never happened.

Also, fought two people in Friendly games last night who must have lowered the handicap so much that they were knocked out with one hit. Not sure if it was a mistake or they just like a challenge...

Effective, though, by the sounds of it...

also, honda's standing kick is a pretty solid poke to back them into a corner.
