Oh, yeah, sometimes I don't get notifications either. Or more correctly, I'll get them on one device, but not the other, and which gets them seems to change. Perhaps with which I used last, but I'm not sure about that.
Also, any word on when we get Storm of Souls.

Just had an epic game against Camzy. We tied 91-91, with Camzy winning by virtue of going last. I went construct heavy, but Camzy pulled Avatar of the Fallen late in the game and then used Avatar to defeat Samael. Then on the final turn, Camzy used Sadranis to pull Avatar out of the void yet again. First time I had ever seen anyone pull that off.
Great comeback win, Camzy! And this is yet another reason why Ascension, while it may be my favorite Iphone app, is dying for an in-game chat function. The only way for me to congratulate Camzy was to post a message on these forums. |

Anyone has any idea how to make good use of the "Black Hole". It seems nice to get rid of those pointless stuff in the early stage, but afterwards, it seems nothing but a 4-point card...

Dre, I have never been attracted by cards games. I tried a few and dropped them fast (both real world and virtual). When I took ascension ... well, I got addicted (even too much). After it, I tried again other cards games ... still I do not like them. Ascension is the only one that attracts me.
It is a card and board game somehow at the same time. Every game is different, often games are open till the last rounds (maybe not at first). It involves strategy and lot lot of tactics. And luck plays quite a role too. Games can be very fast and brutal, or very slow and brainy (depending on the opponent and how the cards come). The only game that I only removed once from my ipad because I was playing it too much! The only one I play daily. Well, Carcassonne too. |

Hi all,
I have an honest question here, so bear with me - and feel free to give me pointers/links ![]() I've never played many hardcore card games in the past. I bought Ascension a couple of months ago, but I only played it single player - and not much, to be honest, since I didn't quite get the grasp of the strategy. For me it was very much a game of reaction, and trying to see how things were going. :| I've always been curious about playing it multiplayer, but I fear that these long breaks between moves will even make things worse for me, because it will all boil down to a game of "what's the best move I can make in this particular scenario", but losing the notion of the entire game, what cards have already been played/are left to play, and what strategy am I going for. Is this a real issue? Or is it something I shouldn't worry about? For instance - and please bear with the comparison, even if it seems unsuited or wrong - I recently had the chance to play Words With Friends in the same asynchronous multiplayer mode, and I found out that it was indeed, for me, a game where I couldn't care less about what had been played before, and there was little to no strategy. It was always down to the board at hand, the tiles I had to play at that time, and the scores we had. I feel that's not the case with Ascension, though. Tips, suggestions, and comments are very welcome ![]() Cheers, Paulo |
