@aoisora From my little experience, there is no hard and fast rule. There are many ways to gather points (to win, i.e.). One can go for Monster Killer and grab all the cards for Powers, or be a card collectors with a lot of cards.
The cards available from the first few rounds may give one some really good idea what course of action to take. My advice, once you have it, play consistently (if the cards allow) and stick with it. Say you go for constructs, and get all the constructs as best as you can and all the cards that facilitate this (e.g. Reactor Monk). Well, as many have said, there are always some luck factors involved but fortunately the game is balanced enough so you can still maintain your plan some what (e.g. you can still draw honours even when you have a full hand of Heavy Infantry and there is no monster left in the deck) Just to give you a big picture. I am not going to go in the gambit part cause there are much more advanced players here than I am, and I suggest some one should start a bit of a "guide". Also I notice the AI is playing better (progressive AI?). There are more than 1 occasion that the Orange wins by using that stick and draws honours without touching anything! |

Yep, I do occasionally. Played my first internet game of it this weekend actually (and got my ass handed to me - the guy managed to complete a something like 12-15 tile city).

I play Carcassonne, but I don't play it as much because I'm kind of worn out on playing it with just the base set, especially since in real-game form I've got many expansions for it and it's always fun to pick out some expansions and play with those. Then it's a bit of let down to be limited to the base set in the iOS version. Fall can't come soon enough... and then whatever season brings the next expansion and the next and the next....

Hey guys, you all heard any news of an upcoming update for Ascension? Kard Combat was released later than Ascension but the Developers just release a pretty significant update.
I love Ascension and my most-wanted features are multi-tasking and support for Game Center leaderboard. |

KC is a scam with business malpractice clearly shown in the new update. Sure a faster update because in this way they could racket more money from who was misled by their iap description last time.

Just read the link that TheDukester posts. Can't wait for Fall to come soon enough. Didn't know the ROTF can be played as a standalone too. That is a good way to attract new players.

I'm curious if they'll also include the solitaire variant. I have the real game and the rules include a version for a single player. It's not much, but still would be nice if the iOS expansion also let you do that for completions sake. Also the expansion allows for 6 player games. That would be rather cumbersome to play asynch, but if by some miracle you could get six people playing the game live, that would be fun. |

-Original -Stand Alone Expansion -Extra Crispy (Original and Expansion cards combined) While the game does offer some new twists, don't get too excited about the promised 65 new cards as many of these are simply alternative graphic renditions of the already existing cards from the original game since this can be played as a stand alone game. Not sure what percentage of the card therefore are completely new to the game. The biggest new twist, as far as I have read, is the FATE mechanic. These are cards that add interesting effects right as they are added to the center row (like all players draw a card or banish the two cards on either side of this newly added one). |
