@Rubicon (not the Jeep). I did make an actual request in my first post. That request goes for iOS and Android. (in response to "So, do you have any actual requests for features in the iOS version? This being an iOS forum and all... ")
The jeeps and cargo planes can't go much further than the people or vehicles they carry, so they are pretty much useless except on the last move, because then you get the combined movement of each. Jeeps are good doing the hop trick leaving them parked, but aren't very useful when used as intended. So please add range to them. The planes are nice to drop in an engineer at the enemy HQ blowing past their defenses, but again the range sucks, so they aren't good for covering a lot of ground quickly as expected. I am a huge fan of Advance Wars, and GLWG is better in some ways such as graphics. At 10% of the price it really is a bargain. I think there are some things such as long-range missles or vehicles that can move a lot of space in one turn as found in AW, that if brought to GLWG would improve playability. Something to consider for the sequel. Im not disputing your claim that you can't sell the expansion pack due to size, but this doesn't make sense. Maybe you can clarify for us. How can a voice pack download be bigger than the entire game? It doesn't seem like 10 extra maps would exceed the download limits unless they are very large and detailed, so can't you just trim a few levels off or make a different expansion pack tailored to Android? Just an idea for you. If the Android Market won't let you sell expansion packs, maybe look into Amazon, since maybe they will work with you if you grant them an exclusive on it. My last idea would be a level or two that are insanely hard (and probably optional) for gamers like myself experienced in this genre that blow through the game quickly. I would love to play some levels that go on for an hour or more. Right now the trophies are based on speed, but it would be nice to not worry about that and just have an epic battle that went on for a couple hours. None of the versions actually download anything - packs are there all the time and you just unlock them. Actual DLC is frowned upon by both communities in case our server goes down or we go out of business or something.
The rest of your suggestions have been noted, thanks. |

Will most of the features in GLWG2 be compatible with the 2nd Gen iTouch?

None of them will unfortunately. We tried to make the current game run on older hardware and it just isn't happening. We will still be supporting 3GS, but nothing older than that.

I see your perspective, Apple pretty much designed the iOS devices to last two years, so people on phone contracts will be enticed to buy the next iPhone. I'm stuck on the iTouch 2nd Gen til I can get the next gen iPhone in a year when my sh*t box Android's (never buy an Android if you like apps BTW) contract expires.... Wish Apple would have let Sprint have the iPhone just 6 months earlier

It's not even about minorities not being worth the effort - they are in our opinion. It's just too underpowered.
I had a 3G phone for quite some time and was desperate to get it working, but we stripped the game down to almost nothing and it still wouldn't manage more than about 8 fps, which is crap for a game that needs to scroll the map around. |

Hopefully they change their stance on DLC. Smartphone Apps is still a very new technology, so maybe a few years down the road when the market is more mature they will have better policies in place to deal with DLC.
I have an idea. How about GLWG - All Out War. Make it a stand alone game with only those 10 levels in addition design 10 new skirmish levels and include those as well. Make it sort of like a point release, not a full blown sequel, and charge $1.50 for it. You already have a bulk of the work for it completed. Easy money, lol. Actually make it 11 levels, so Android users get 1 exclusive mission, haha. As a business and marketing person I naturally think of all possible ways to make money. Something else that came to mind is to get your game in the DS marketplace. Very little competition there, and the games in it rack up big sales numbers. Not sure if the 3DS hardware could handle the game, but I have seen other smartphone apps make the leap over there. Cut The Rope is one example Apple and Droid users would be familar with. |

Thanks, this is getting better.
![]() We are due out on Vita in the new year, but 3DS is a bit of a mystery - still hard for indies to get devkits. Might just do something with the All out War idea, nice one. |

I'm glad to see all the support from the forum members for this dev, and how he takes everyones opinion in account, even if they aren't the nicest people. I can't wait to see the final product, even if I won't be able to play it.
