Game of the Week

Okay guys, this is a concept I was surprised no to see:
I propose (like the title indicates), a thread where each week we vote for a game that has just released.Candidates will be chosen through the comments on this thread and/or their popularity.
So here is the first pole
The results will be dispalyed every Tuesday.
I will need an assistant because I tend to be busy from time to time....

Anyways, it's been tried before plenty of times. It just doesn't work out well after a week or two. We even used to do a TA unofficial game of the month thing. Had it for quite a few months actually. That didn't work out too well either apparently. Including some more poll choices would have been a good idea..along with an 'others' option.

It's a good idea but the candidates for this week should've first been nominated. Maybe start a thread dedicated to keeping track of nominations to be used in a poll for the following week. So this week's poll should actually begin next week because those games are very recent. And for it to work orderly, you'll need to give numbers and dates in the title, e.g. GOTW#1 (06/07/11 to 12/07/11). I'm assuming the release window will run from Wednesday through to Tuesday each week. Then each successive week you can link to the history of the other polls, then possibly conduct a GOTM using the top 4 candidates that will emerge.

I think instead of this, people could just post run-downs on new releases they have bought. The thread would just be an instant go-to thread to check out feedback from all the new releases in one single thread, instead of browsing through each game's respective threads.

I like that idea. It would be nice to have a centralized thread that talked about all the new releases that week instead of having to go through each games individual thread.

That's more or less what the "Mass "What should I get?" Thread" is for, only it requires someone asking the question before it gets answered each week.
