As for the mechanics on Surge Mode, I'm enjoying it quite a bit. I love the boosts you get, and I think if it controlled like it did when going normally, THAT would feel weird.

Update - we have been looking at the issues some users reported with the QuBLNG gift code, and tracked down a possible bug when connecting via Edge or 3G.

If you have encountered this issue (you bought the game and recorded at least one score before July 29th but didn't receive the gift notification on startup after getting the update), as a workaround please try to connect via WiFi, then kill the app and restart.

It's possible that other network operations (like validating content purchases) could be affected, so we advise everyone to try to connect via WiFi whenever possible, especially when updating/purchasing, for the time being.

If this doesn't work, we'd like to hear about it. We will continue to investigate and look for a proper fix.

Yeah, I've been connecting via WiFi, and still nothing for me...

But I"m done waiting for it. The devs have put in way too much time trying to fix this little issue that I don't even really care about anymore... =oP
