Good news, I've seen his twitter's post and this emu is almost ready! Garou finally on iOS, and metal slug saga!

I'm torn for this one.
I'm sure it will be great (and I bought several of Robert's emus), but since Seleuco plans to update the MAME version in a few months, the complete NeoGeo library will work on both.
I'll probably wait a bit for this one, at least until the new iMAME4All is out, so I can take the most performant one.

I'm also waiting for the others announced, especially the GBA one. I want to replay Mother 3 on my iPad, dagnabbit.

edit: also, some games don't seem to work fully: http://www.explusalpha.com/home/neo-emu
Again, wait and see, it could be fixed.

What??? Metal slugs doesn't work properly? I'll wait until this emu is going to be perfect! And if Seleuco is going to update mame, it's going to be the final emu, this Neo.emu will be useless!

Yeah compatibility list is iffy cause it's the first time he releases something with a bunch of games crashing or not loading, but he moves so fast I wouldn't be surprised if within a couple of months all run 100% (we'll see if I'm right about this). He writes code like an artist, every stroke is meticulous.

Hopefully he gets Metal Slug 5 and Top Hunter running soon and I'll be happy.

We don't know when Seleuco will come out with New Mame, he said he works mainly on Android now for all we know it could be half a year before we see his solid new incarnation on ios. :/

Also it's not bad, I find the Neo geo and CPS have such an extensive library it's convenient to have them as seperate emus, plus Robert's Imagine engine feels rock solid and I like that.

That's exactly why I hesitate.
I don't suspect it will be half a year between MAME versions, more like 2 months. Yes, Android will be first with the new core, but as soon as it's done (and runs ok), I'm sure Seleuco will port it to iOS.
And yes, Robert's emus are great: I have the NES/SNES/MD/GBC ones, and if a GBA one exists, I'll refresh Cydia constantly to get it ASAP .
But for this one, given the fact that the games I lack the most in MAME (Metal Slug 3 and beyond) are not fully-working in this version, I can wait either for the new MAME, the new NEO.emu, or both.
Also, I like to keep apps to a minimum.

Already submitted it to Cydia, so it's just a matter of them packaging it up (normally takes a few days). If you haven't already, check out the game compatibilty list here. Metal Slug 3 & 4 are now listed as working (I was only able to get the lockups when testing the code on my PC). You may need to update certain romsets to the latest MAME dumps if you're using the older sets from mame4all.

Unfortunately the Cyclone CPU core used on Android doesn't compile on iOS due to its assembly code and I had to use the less accurate C core, so a few games like Viewpoint won't run yet. I'm planning to port over the C core from MD.emu which should fix this in an update.

Anyway, hope you guys enjoy the app once it's out

Thanks for the heads-up!
Man, Metal Slug 3 and 4 are working? Now I'm hesitating...
