Praise from the press:

“Glu has built Deer Hunter 3D from the ground up for the iPhone, taking advantage of the high-resolution display and touch controls to craft a very compelling, very tactile hunting game” – IGN

“..we were like deer trapped in headlights. It wasn't the surprise of Atari's cult classic hunting series coming to iPhone by way of Glu that had us stunned so much as how great the game looks and plays.” - Pocket Gamer

Sounds like a great package. You can grow your characters skills, unlock trohpies/achievements, get new weapons, 27 different shooting locations.
All it really needs is a online score board.

Thats the exact question i was asking myself. Everything else has me pretty much sold. Being able to move short and long distances for hunting will confirm my purchase.

Guessing from the graphics I would say no or I should say I highly doubt it.

There is a trade off to be made when programming these devices, killer graphics with no movement to keep the frame rate up. Or you reduce the quality and detail in the graphics allow more player freedom but you cannot have both at once if you want more than 1 FPS.
