Hi Guys,
My fifth app just got approved and is live on the store. It's a FREE video poker app called Poker Flow. It has 8 game center leaderboards and 31 achievements. Seven different video poker games: Tens or Better, Jacks or Better, Joker Poker, Deuces Wild, Not So Ugly Ducks, Double Bonus, Double Double Bonus http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/poker-flow/id521146196?mt=8 This time around I was "inspired" by one of my favorite games Match Panic. It started off just as a tech demo to see if I could pull off some of the same animations. Frank is such a cool guy that he actually encouraged me instead of getting upset. Make sure you download Match Panic if you haven't already! This game has retina graphics for iPhone 4 and iPad 3, I hope you enjoy: ![]() I'd love to hear any feedback either here or on my twitter: @ileff Thanks, Ian Leff |

Thanks everybody this launch is going much better than my previous apps. It really helps an unknown app when you guys get friends to also download.
![]() I just dropped my similar app Poker Swap from $1.99 to Free. It is also Universal and Retina. I hope you enjoy: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/poker-swap/id449704453?mt=8 |

Thanks! I was a bit worried when I saw I had a reply from "AngryRant"
![]() I'm fixing up a few minor bugs for v1.0.1 update. If anybody has any comments or suggestions I'll make sure to get it into this update. Thanks, Ian |

The game was a neat concept but the idea of an endless tally and no stakes/risk takes a lot away from it for me.

Update 1.0.1 is out with some bug fixes.
LordGek: I live in Yuba City, we are almost neighbors. I am currently working on a larger update that gives you the option to bet Double or Nothing after a winning hand. You can keep doubling up the pot if you dare. Hopefully that does add an excitement/risk factor. Thanks for the feedback! |

I like the concept, but I feel it'd be more fun if we know how many cards are in the shoe.
Currently it seems to me that the deck is a random choice between 10, 15, 20 cards, and it makes it hard to plan for the perfect hand if you don't know if there's more after the initial visible 10. What I really want is two modes: 1. A fast timed game with a 1 minute limit and an unlimited shoe (think of Bejeweled Blitz mode, this will translate well to leaderboards). 2. A slow paced game (what you have currently) with a limited but user defined shoe size. |

The Double or Nothing update is now submitted to Apple. It usually takes about a week to get reviewed.
Kin: When I created the initial prototype I was dealing out all 52 cards of each deck. It didn't take long to realize that the player could get a royal flush every time by using one side as a waste pile. So to make the big hands possible but not too easy, I "cut" the deck and dealt 15-40 cards. I tested that out for a while and thought it was still too easy. I ended up making it 10-25 cards. As far as fixed size vs. random, I was thinking the uncertainty helps push players into taking small or medium winning hands. A bird in hand is better than 2 in the bush... I do like your idea of blitz mode. Along those lines I'm also thinking of some type of weekly challenge where the sequence of cards is fixed so when you replay you can learn and fine tune for the highest score. I think it would be cool if every player across the world played the exact same sequence (for the week). |
