iOS abstract strategy board game TOT TableTop will be free until July 3rd!

The Octagon Theory is an iOS abstract strategy board game like chess, othello, checkers. While The Octagon Theory can be played by two humans via pass-n-play it is mainly designed for one human to play against the AI. It is a universal version for iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad.

TOT TableTop is an iPad-only version of The Octagon Theory that is mainly designed to be place on a table to be played by two humans. But a human player can play against the AI if another human player isn't available.

The prices of these two games have been changed:

The Octagon Theory: $0.99 -> $1.99.
TOT TableTop: $1.99 -> $0.99.

The reason the prices have been changed is because The Octagon Theory is universal while TOT TableTop is iPad-only, so TOT TableTop should be cheaper.

Also starting now TOT TableTop will be free until July 3rd at which time the price will go back to $0.99.

No. The one you refer to as the iPhone version (The Octagon Theory) is universal meaning that it is optimized for all iOS devices with Retina images for the latest iPod Touch and iPhone 4, and 'New iPad' 3rd generation. It is more expensive because it runs on every iOS device at optimal screen size and resolution.

The other version (TOT TableTop) only runs on iPads (it also has high resolution graphics for the iPad 3rd generation Retina display). It is cheaper because it runs on only one type of iOS device.

I think this pricing structure is more logical than the previous one.
