Okay, Apple has given up support for the iPod 3G, and I wanna update to iOS 6. Can I get help? Also, after the jailbreak, how do I get apps like GTA III? I heard you can get them to work.

i dont know if there's actually a way to, but uhh. My ipod 4 has barely enough memory to handle iOS 5. Your 3rd generation is probably going to have even more problems than my device.

The 3rd and 4th gen iPods actually have an identical amount of RAM, the only difference hardware wise is the processor (in terms of speed). Actually I'd prefer a 3rd gen for gaming because the retina display is to much for the A4 to handle, even though it looks beautiful.

you cant, the only thing i can think of is for you to check out the RedD00r jailbreak which will breathe some new life into your older device.
For iphone 2g users theres The WhiteD00r jailbreak too which I have installed on my partners old 2g device. These are jailbreaks which basically bring ios5 to your older device minus the imessaging as far as I can see. |

No, my iPod already runs on iOS 5. Want to update it. Is it possible? If yes, how? I'm a total n00b when it comes to jailbreaking.
