Buzz Attack: an indie game where you play an old man who swats at flies!
BUZZ ATTACK IS OUT ON THE APP STORE! Buzz Attack You play an old man who swats mutant flies that come out of trash can in the park and buy weapons from a shady dude nearby. It's a bit wacky and started of as an experiment! Update: new game in action video added, game was finally submitted last week and is waiting for Apple approval, this also means we are no longer looking for Beta testers (but I can't change the title) The trailer Youtube link | Pop Up Buzz attack in action Youtube link | Pop Up Don't let the cute graphics fool you, the game is hard and challenging and has a lot more to offer for people who are tired of one button games but still want something casual to play. The graphics may be simple but it holds up extremely well on an iPad 3 and retina displays. I'm not aware of any game quite like this on mobile, so I'm pretty sure this will be a new style of gameplay for most people. Check out the trailer and if your interested you can Beta test the game before it comes out, also feel free to ask any questions. http://www.buzzattack.net ![]() high res screenshot (iPhone 4S) Here's the spiel: You play Gus who is enjoying a nice day in the park until mutant flies come out of the trash and start invading the park. Fast paced physics action! Swat, spray and zap the flies by tapping on them, move around by pressing down on the pavement. Hit trees for apples to regenerate health, pick up the coins the flies drop to buy weapons and items from the suspicious vendor in the park. Fight wave after wave of unique enemies, beat 3 levels of difficulty plus blitz mode (survivor gameplay) - fast paced physics based action - 4 game difficulty modes - a cast of different flies, some with unique abilities - special weapons and items to unlock - gamecenter leaderboards - tons of achievements - tweet and facebook post your highscores! - dynamically play in portrait or landscape mode - 60 FPS universal app looks great on the iPad 3 - addictive gameplay? you decide Coming soon to the Apple App Store September 2012 for iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch Free/Paid version. I'm currently looking for Beta testers to iron out any remaining bugs (pun intended) and help balance out the gameplay. The game runs great on a iPod 3rd gen (except 8GB), iPhone 3GS or higher and all iPads (iOS 4.3 or higher required) You can catch some of my early development discussion here on this TA developer thread More Screens: ![]() ![]() ![]() http://www.buzzattack.net facebook page! Can I just say first and foremost that it is an honour to beta test for you. I have tested many games and I have the experience needed to test a game efficiently.
I am really enjoying playing your game. It can get challenging though but I like the challenge! The tutorial really shows you everything that you need to know as well, that's a good thing! |

I think once I squashed a fly with his elbow after his forearm had done a full circle Sounds and effects are well-timed. Nice having the tutorial in there and all the little extras. Only suggestion I'd make would be to make repeated squashes even faster... Not sure though if that goes kinda contrary to how gameplay should be (as described in the tutorial with letting the arm come down completely). I found myself by nature just tapping all over the screen wanting both arms to move at the same time. I think it would be quite fun to be able to keep tapping repeatedly and see his arms flailing all over the place. Just a thought ![]() Oh, and cool that you can play the game in both portrait and landscape mode - well done! |

Interesting concept and unique.
It is a very good game. I realy like the character design and the graphics in general. The game is easy to understand after playing the tutorial. I think you should make the normal game available after players have played the tutorial.. You could also add a survival mode to the game and a mode that you have one minute to kill the most flies..without powerups.. And of course leaderboards for both! ![]() I think you should move the guy that sells power ups, all the way to the left because sometimes, I accidentaly bought things I didn't want. Looking forward to the next build.. |
