Hmmm. Description says no IAP and no iAd. Im tempted to buy it just for that.

The iADs were briefly considered as an option. However that would've meant more time spent on Monetization and less on making games. --> Not an option.

Am I missing something here? So where is the strategy? Is there an enemy AI to battle with for survival? I saw nothing in the video other than adding low res modules to each other. What are the gameplay objectives and where is the fun?

Building Strategy games as opposed to RTS generally don't include the features you were asking about. So you may be better off with one of the gazzilion TowerDefense games out there if you are looking for that.
Discussing whether a game is fun or not without playing it is quite pointless so please let's not go down that route.
