Multi player action from iPhone/iPad without Apple TV

I spent an hour or two yesterday trying to find a mirroring app that would let me play iPad/iPhone on my HD TV.

Found a program called Airserver. Can't believe I've never heard of it!

I downloaded the program for my laptop, turned on AirPlay (2 taps of the home button) on my phone and connected my laptop to TV and voila my iPhone was playing out on my TV.

I have a smart TV so I think I should be able to use all share instead of HDMI lead to laptop.

I haven't purchased it yet (it's only $15) but you get 7 free days.

The best bit though is that you can have 2 or more iPhones/iPads connected so you can play against mates on TV. Can't believe Apple haven't done that!

Has anyone else used it/got any tips?
