Wow bad timing. This uses OpenFeint.
Graphics are great, although strangely not anti-aliased on the iPad 3, even though it uses the Unreal engine. Gameplay is pretty decent, although a bit simplified compared to most popular fighting games. Multiplayer is currently unavailable and marked "Coming Soon". There are only 4 characters, 3 of which need to be unlocked with in-game currency. Characters gain experience and can have points attributed to various stats as they level-up. The shop includes weapons and armor to increase your various stats. Most of these seem to use the in-game currency. The shop also has one-time use items for fairly significant stat increases, creating a real "pay-to-win" atmosphere. Premium currency is awarded from some quests in small amounts, but I don't know how far into the game that will last. |

Why only Canada and Singapore? Such a strange combination of countries.

Not strange at all. A lot of developers use those countries for testing purposes, even EA and Squeenix. They work well as smaller subsets to their largest customers. For example, Canadian culture and language is nearly identical to the US, but only has around 1/10th the population.

We have way more beavers than the US And we have the CN Tower.... Ya we have beavers and towers... And we have throat singing way up north! See the difference ![]() PS: calling us smaller subsets doesn't help our self esteem up here!!!!!

I played a bit of this game, like it a lot for the novelty of being able to use a sword which is pretty unconventional in a fighting game. Graphics is pretty good, I like how colourful and pretty everything looks and there're zero frame rate issues on the iPad 2. The commands are simple enough to use, most of them are just direction+1 button. My big gripe with usual fighting games is the combos are so complex and hard to use. Oh and I laugh every time I hear the winning message. You win, Yaay! |
