I'll give this a shot. Interested to see how the monster slaying works with this runner. Sheesh! Just when I tell myself I'll never get another one of these!

I played the tutorial and part of the first level. So far so good - graphics, sound, gameplay are all pretty solid. It's not an endless runner though as would seem from the pix - it's level based. And it seems you don't get to keep your coins unless you finish the level. I'm not sure if I like that, because if the levels get pretty difficult, there's no alternate incentive to keep playing them. The good thing though, is that unlike Pitfall, it doesn't seem that you need any kind of currency to start from an unlocked level (but then I haven't gotten very far). Another good thing is that there are a good number of levels. There's even a pretty decent intro cinematic. I've been playing a lot of One Epic Knight, but this could replace that as my runner...
[update] A couple more things. The levels are not random, though it does seem the magnet frequency can change based on your upgrades. The upgrade/item system is interesting - you buy armor and upgrade that armor. Each new armor has its three stats pre-upgraded more than previous armor. In addition to the armor, there are also one use potions. So a fair amount to spend your coins on. Last edited by LCDDreams; 11-27-2012 at 05:19 PM.. |

Pretty simple - you just tap to kill.

Woh... i consider OEK to be one of the best behind-the-back runners, and if this is has the potential to be better... [impatiently looking at the download to finish]

Yeah it's hard to say. I need to play more. It's definitely interesting and for the most part well done. OEK is a tough one to beat though. I'll be playing both for a little while - we'll see which wins out.
