The Athlete Quiz (by bizbizbuzz)

The Athlete Quiz is an iPhone app we've recently developed, and we think it is the best sports quiz out there.

Test and enlarge your knowledge of athletes in the sports of basketball, soccer, tennis, and baseball.

This application gives you the image of an athlete, and you have to find this athlete's name. It's that simple !

There are six different levels in each sport, each comprised of 24 athletes. If you find a certain number of athletes in a level, the next level is unlocked.

At first, you may find the athletes are quite easy to name; chances are, you won't be thinking the same things for long ! Levels progressively become harder, so by the time you reach the 4th or 5th level, many athletes will be completely unknown to you.

But what should you do when you are unable to find an athlete's name ? You have two options: you can either get a tip using the Athlete Quiz's built-in function, or you can email a friend of yours the picture of the athlete and ask for help. After all, that's the funnest part: having to think about an athlete for a while, and finally, having that rewarding moment when you remember his name !

This entertaining game will keep you occupied for hours on end. Play the Athlete Quiz when you are bored or you have nothing to do, and you will find the time goes by much faster.

How did you get around licensing all the leagues and player associations?

We didn't actually mention any of the leagues and player associations, and I don't think they could prevent us from using an image of an athlete. However, we do believe it would problematic to use an image of an athlete without due attribution; as a consequence, we decided to implement a "credit" feature, which we think is sufficient.
