The models look cool. Interested to see how they approach the gameplay. No mention of what movement you are going to control with your thumb. Maybe you just match patterns to perform a trick?

We are the developers who made APO Snow in partnership with APO. Our apologies for mistyping 'competition' in the first screenshot. We will fix that first thing tomorrow morning Pacific Standard Time. We hope you all give the game a chance. We've tried to make the game causal, fun, and realistic all at the same time. All controls are with a thumb, or any single finger of your choosing. You carve back and forth with a single finger, then you flick with a finger to spin and flip as you go off jumps, and as soon as you are in the air a trick diamond appears so you can do combination patterns to perform tricks. You can trace up to 3 diamonds to perform unlocked tricks. 4 diamond tricks are unlocked with in-game currency.

We tried to make the controls as simple as possible and convenient when played on a phone held vertically. Plus we are not fans of tilt controls for this kind of game, especially when played on a tablet. We hope you like our design.

Why do none of the screenshots show any actual gameplay? You know, with the board actually connected to snow? Or is this actually just a gesture based copy-the-pattern sort of game that has nothing to do with actual boarding?

Either those screenshots are hiding a dire lack of gameplay, or, well, it's pretty much the worst job of advertising whatever gameplay exists I've seen yet.

Static images of the backside of a character connected to the snow wouldn't convey actual gameplay any better unfortunately.

Here is actual gameplay from an iPhone 5 taken in real time with Kamcord. Although APO Snow supports retina display, the video recording is at a lower resolution to make it possible to upload the video over the cellular network in a reasonable amount of time. This video was taken with a pre-released development build; the Kamcord feature is not yet in the game. Many thanks to Kamcord and the hard work they are doing to bring gameplay video sharing to mobile devices.
