Looks like it was just re-released under a different label.

Yep, that's basically it.

This isn't really bothering me as much as it use to... I know the game didn't sell well the first time around, and a re-release means that there's hope of updates instead of it just being abandonware... It does suck to have to buy a game twice... But you don't have to. I've still got the game on my PC, but I will repurchase it if the game is updated instead of just being an exact copy of the pulled version.

Just hope thats the way it goes.

The only thing that really gets me anymore is if a Dev throws ads into a previously paid game, and adds an IAP to remove the ads, or if it's a big game, that we all know sold well (Tetris comes shooting into my mind like a shotgun blast) and gets pulled to be re-released... Or a full premium game goes freemium and gets rebalanced (Major Mayhem type freemium movements don't bother me one little bit...)

Anywho, if you don't have this one yet, it's worth picking up. I enjoyed it quite a bit back when I had a 2nd gen.

It bother me because, instead of updating it on my PC like I wanted to, I ended up paying for it again. Apple looks like they'll give me a refund though.

What happened (I tweeted the original devs) is that the game was sold to another company. Apple needs to do something about this. I don't give a damn who publishes a game; if it stays the exact same, Apple needs to require that the internal identifier remains the same. I have countless apps that have disappeared; one of the reasons I'm wary of new developers, indies especially. I want to support them, but if struggling for money, as indies often are, leads to, in my opinion, shady business practices, I won't take the risk.

I love ios gaming, but I can't stand the disposable nature of it. I've bought games that have been pulled before I've even played them. Christ almighty. I mean, if I download this on my phone, I'll have two identical apps (I never deleted the original) with identical icons, names, gameplay, everything. That's just silly.

Syntheticvoid obviously has a bit more compassion than I do. Yeah, Aerox was a much worse case, pretty much a straight scam, but I still don't like it a bit.

SV will understand that last sentence.

EDIT: Got my refund (it isn't the price that counts to me); but it included a lecture on how app downloads work. As if I didn't know. I should tell "Kim" that iTunes and the appstore have a lot more problems than I do using it.

I wouldn't take it personally... I'm sure they get all kinds of people asking for refunds because they were too stupid to know what they were doing... =oP

Sorry for your frustration. I'm the Developer. You're right, Its a small two man operation.
Evil Robot is a second release by me. The original Dev sold it… nothing shady here, i promise… an Apple seems to be okay with it.

Anyways.. i understand your issues with the duplicate game. i'm working to release some new updates and hoping to breathe new life into this game with IAPs and gameplay

Here's a couple of promo codes for this version… enjoy
