Darn addictive game clearly in the Triple Town genre.

This game is a cute hybrid of many Archetypes!

Slide peices aroound the board (like Bootant's Microcells) to form groups of three or more same type to evolve the cluster to a single more evolved piece (Triple Town). Heck, they even have Triple Town like beasties you'll need to quickly lock in place or else they'll create a permanent hole in the board! You only have 2 minutes to get as high a score as you can (Bejeweled Blitz). Ocassionally evolving an item to its ultimate state will grant you a chest which might contain an item or coins. These item rarely do anything on their own but are components of various themed collection that, once complete, you can trade in to upgrade some gameplay comonent (ala Coin Dozer). On top of all of this you'll be trying to accomplish little missions for coin rewards and to level up (leveling up your persistent Alchemist character will grant you score bonuses and access to a greater variety of power-ups. Wrap all of these element up in some really amazing retina graphics! So while no element of the game is really new, the combination of all of these aspects is pretty novel.

5/5

this game is REALLY fun. my only problem with it is that it takes forever to actually get gold, and because of that, it takes forever to upgrade anything without IAP.

i'm a pretty kitty cat

Enh, I'm finding the gold rewards from chests decent, I'm usually making 100-200 a game not counting goal rewards. What I will admit, however, is that even when you complete a collection, the difference it makes is pretty tiny.

Does this have a casual mode, or is it all timed?

TIA!

It's always on a timer but you gradually gain more time.

It's kind of weird how the game is both timed and turn based.

You initially starts with 2:00 on the timer and certain combos can earn you a few seconds back on the clock. As you level up you'll have a slighly increased starting amount as well as gain more time from the chests and combos. At the same time, new elements are added to the board after every move you make. So while on a timer you're still sort of taking turns as well.
