Square Enix just put up a website for Final Fantasy Tactics S on its Japanese website. It doesn’t have a lot of details, but we can infer a few things. First, it has a mobile-phone icon in the bottom right of the page. Second, it has developer Mobage listed right at the top of the page.

Mobage is the developer responsible for lucrative mobile collectible-card games Rage of Bahamut and Marvel War of Heroes. We’ve reached out to Square Enix to ask for details about this game, and we’ll update with its response.

It’s likely that this is a casual take on the Tactics franchise designed around free-to-play and in-app purchases. That is Mobage’s specialty.

In art style, maybe. Mobage involvement is never a good thing.

I watched the Toucharcade Youtube video of Transformers Legends and if that is indicative of Mobage's quality, then instapass...

I wonder if this was something in the pipe before Yoichi Wada stepped down or if it was a trigger-pull from the new CEO...

Whoever is pulling these ideas out of their ass at Square needs to quit.

How have they of all developers not decided to release a full sequel to Tactics and charge 20?

Mobage is trash. Never was there a game worthy of the title they make the games for.

I'm already disappointed. If it is an on-line only crapfest like FF Airborne Brigade, then I'll have to avoid it. Sad though. We'd all happily pay for FFT Advance or a new story with similar gameplay. I definitely don't want or need another card game. And I definitely won't pay anything for it. SE just keep running themselves into the ground. Do they even listen to their fans?!
