Default TouchArcade Bot

Can we kill off the generic TouchArcade Bot posting from the TA app and make it post under a persons account (if they don't have account they can't post)? Might lessen some of the rubbish that some people seem to post in clusters when they're bored.

It's a futile battle. I made a similar topic like this, and the ol' iron fist of Touch Arcade did not budge.

Alas, the spamageddon will be... with us forever...

"TouchArcade Bot" posts are a result of someone looking up a game in the app, and wanting to leave a comment in the forums. If no thread exists, the bot creates an empty post with appinfo for the associated game in it.

With no moderation of the entries the TouchArcade Bot makes, the forum occasionally suffers with horrendous shovelware blanketing the forum titles.

I think you should rethink the idea of the TouchArcade Bot, personally. I can't think of any game it has ever dug up that was worth even looking at. It's all crapware made by crap developers trying to make a crap buck. The important games, and the ones that people actually care about, are already called for and announced by their respective developers. TouchArcade Bot just serves to remind us what the definition of a "rock-bottom production value" game looks like on iOS.

Maybe it shouldn't post then unless someone does make a comment. A bunch of new TA bot threads just popped up again, none with any comments, just the bot appinfo posts, and they all look like garbage.

Yeah, if this isn't considered "spam", I don't know what is:

It's pretty disconcerting and makes the forum look unprofessional and cluttered. No one cares about any of those apps, and I don't understand where the line is drawn between spamvertising and entire threads popping up for games no one has ever and will care for.

It's ridiculous. This is actually the worst I've ever seen of the TouchArcade Bot. Just awful.

I appreciate the intention of the Touch Arcade bot but the execution seems so off. Worthy games often have threads created by human forum users and I've rarely encountered a Touch Arcade Bot thread that disn't leave me rolling my eyes and the content of the app. Today TA Bot; tomorrow SkyNet becomes self aware...

I've found plenty. Sometimes TA Bot comes up with stuff better than anything members have posted.

In case somebody wanted examples:
