Default Sentinel Tales - New Squad Based 2D Action/Strategy with Epic Battles!

Hello everybody,
We are a very small indie studio that have been developing Sentinel Tales.
This is a squad based 2D Action Strategy game based
in a fantasy/steam-punk universe.



Here is a teaser to give you an idea of what the game is about:

Low bandwidth Version | Pop Up


This game is still under active development and will hopefully be released soon.
The idea behind this game was to give the player the experience of
throwing tons of summoned allied units(archers, foot soldiers, ninjas, mages etc.) against
a huge variety of enemies. Tons of gore, action and excitement is to be expected during combat!
There are many boss battles in this game and they include fighting
a wide assortment of mythical beasts including dragons, giant trolls, dinosaurs and more!

This is a rather unique title from the actual combat gameplay perspective. The player gets to
throw tons(and we mean TONS) of units
against giant enemies. It should make for an amazing
spectacle that should be really fun to both watch and play.

Just like to add: This title is for the iPad, will be considering an iPhone/iPod Touch port after the initial game has been released!

Looks really interesting! I haven't seen a game with such massive battles on the ipad yet. Will keep an eye on this one.

Default Wielding Magic

Hi people,
Here is more in depth info on one of the aspects of the game.
There are many ways to fight battles in Sentinel Tales, one of them includes using the spell casting ability of the Sentinel to turn the tides of battle.

Here is a video illustrating the gameplay:


Low bandwidth Version | Pop Up


In Sentinel Tales, you have the ability to construct powerful Magical Obstacles. These obstacles are drawn(via dragging of the finger on the iPad) to provide various special abilities in battle, enhancing your combat prowess.

Here are some of the Magical Obstacles available:

Reflector



Reflects your projectile weapons, allowing one to deflect attacks in other directions. Works with the Sentinel's basic range attack as well as any unit capable of throwing projectiles(archers etc.)

Flame



In addition to reflection, any projectile coming in contact with this obstacle also gains fire damage.

Magic



In addition to reflection, any projectile coming in contact with this obstacle also gains magic damage. Also,health auras are dropped at random when contact is made, healing nearby friendly troops.

Vortex



Generates a wind field scattering your projectiles in multiple directions!

Magnify



Doubles the size and damage of any projectile or friendly unit. Make your swordsman twice as large and twice as deadly!

We just completed a new character look yesterday!
Here is the "Aura Shrine" screen where you can add abilities and check out your character in the game.

...And the startup screen is now in! Here is the screen when the game starts, everything is fully animated of course but here is a still shot from the game. The flames around the 2 characters are fully simulated burning around the characters outlines. The rocks and particles swirl around. We are going for a very dynamic main screen here.



Feel free to ask any questions/comments on the game so far! We would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions! This is the very first game we have made so we are all very excited!

Default Units of War

Hi Guys,
Here is a new video showing you the units one can summon in the game:


Low bandwidth Version | Pop Up


The video describes the following:

Archers and Fighters

Your basic melee and ranged attack units. Fighters are serve as tanks taking on any kind of incoming enemy damage while your archers provide air and support fire.

Mages

Special spell casters capable of turning the tide of battle! There are levitation mages that will levitate enemies into the sky so you or your archers can shoot them down while they are struggling mid air! There are detonation mages that will blow up the projectiles shot from you or your archers. Use them to greatly enhance your deadly attacks!

Elite Mystic Units

Warrior Monks, Ninjas and more! The martial artists who deliver strikes to their enemies with deadly precision! These guys will rush, leap and slash head on into any foe no matter the danger.

Mechanized Units

Machines of war. These include flapping fighters(yes fighters with flapping wings) and bombers. There are also huge cannons and carrier craft which you can transport troops on. Troops can also shoot from such floating platforms to give an added strategic advantage.

We are still polishing and working hard on the game. Please feel free to ask any questions or suggest any ideas if you have any. All comments are welcome!
