Apple raise prices of Apps in the European AppStore to 0.99 ?!

Looks like the prices for apps in Europe will go up to 0.99, 1.99, 2,99 ...

The US App Store appears to have the same $0.99 proces for Bridgy Jones and Cling Thing so it does not appear there have been any price increases here; for comparison.

I knew this was about to happen after the price increase to 0.89. With the same money on my European account, I can now buy less games. No big deal, but still pretty unfair for the Europeans, as the euro is not equal to the dollar.

This isn't true. I saw at my developer account that developers can choose a alternate tier (0,99 is alternate tier 1 and tier 1 is still 0,89). See picture.

That seems like a raw deal that the same games on the same platform are more expensive in Europe than they are in other markets. I guess it's more likely that the US and other areas will see eventual price increases too.

That's a nice stealthy approach Apple takes, just raise the prices and wait till someone notices.

Yea I noticed some apps in the Swedish AppStore had a higher price then usual. Some $0.99 apps, which would be 7 SEK had been raised to 9 SEK while others are still at the usual 7 SEK ($0.99). This goes for higher priced apps as well. So there definitely seems to be more pricing options available for devs. Now, $1 US = 6-7 SEK so a raise by 2 SEK isn't much at all. Course it gets to be more at higher priced apps. Anyway, I hope these changes helps people pay their mortgage, put their kids in college, put food on the table, buy that car yada yada and so on.
