Default Twitter?

How come when I load touch arcade on my ipad browser it opens another page to twitter. Here is the address that comes up, https://twitter.com/i/jot. It just started happening a few days ago. If I set my browser settings to open new pages on the same page that address shows for a second then opens the page normally. But I like to have new pages open in a new window so when I load toucharcade I end up getting a blank twitter page. Like I said the fix is easy, just wondering if you guys have done something on your end that is causing this.

It happens when you watch too much asian porn.

Nah, just kidding Did a little google search, here is the explanation and a solution:

This is a data collecting web bug that Twitter have included into all pages etc that contain their little blue T. The link is embeded into a script that is executed on their server, so it bypasses Thunderbirds no scripts policy, but by loading it they get all your header information the same as if you had given them permision.

Talk about that US government data grab PRISM, Twitter and their ilk are after the lot, not just the meta data. My personal suggestion is simply block the URL https:/twitter.com/i/jot in your firewall.
