Gamescom, Cologne, 20 August 2013 - Independent developer Vivid Games, the company behind hit game Real Boxing, today announced its latest title - Godfire: Rise of Prometheus. Inspired by Greek mythology, Godfire: Rise of Prometheus is a third person action adventure game packed with fearsome beasts, giant titans and intense weapon-based combat.

It will be available on iOS and Android in early 2014. In the game, players assume the role of the hero Prometheus as he embarks upon an epic quest to recover the powerful Godfire Spark and return it to the mortal world. Godfire: Rise of Prometheus will feature an elaborate roster of dangerous foes and malevolent Titan bosses that Prometheus must overcome, many of which will already be familiar to fans of Greek mythology. Players will have full control of Prometheus and his actions as he explores his strange and perilous surroundings, defeating enemies and solving puzzles to achieve his goal.

“With Godfire: Rise of Prometheus, we’re building upon the high standards in graphics and gameplay that we achieved in Real Boxing and taking the Unreal 3 engine to fantastic new heights” said Remi Koscielny, CEO Vivid Games. “To help with this process, we’ve partnered with Oscar-nominated animation studio Platige Image, to work with us on the design, animation and other graphical elements of the game. We’re also giving the game its own distinct visual style by blending the familiar classical Greek aesthetic with new and exciting futuristic elements.” added Koscielny.

Godfire: Rise of Prometheus will be released as a premium title for iOS and Android devices in early 2014. More details about the game will be announced in the coming months.

Looks like a take on the Infinity Blade formula. That's a strong attack and a weak attack on the right, and a block button on the left. Amirite?

Maybe swipes to dodge or something?

Love the looks of this.

Take a look at the second screenshot. It has a standalone health bar for the enemy. That screams 1 vs 1 combat, and this also screams IB-like game. Real Boxing was IB with boxing (and IMO a very boring gameplay). I hope this is better, because Real Boxing was a huge disappointment for me.

Well, the pictures look moderate and I'm pretty sure this is going to be an interesting game, but I'm going to need to see a trailer or actual gameplay video to truly be impressed
