Bloodstroke - A John Woo game (by Chillingo)

The game Bloodstroke was previewed at Gamescom 2013 and will be announced soon

Bloodstroke is on-rails action arcade game.
Game is currently in development by Moon Shark
The story and script was written by John Woo
.

Quote:
The setting is located in Asia.
You take the role of a bodyguard, agent codenamed LOTUS, who is involved in an exciting story.
The main task in the levels is to protect your employer.
The cutscenes are kept exactly as the game in a special black and white graphic style, colors are rarely used but then consciously.

Game features

Quote:
30 levels, Arena mode, variety of enemies & weapons, melee attacks, achievements..

Controls: Virtual joystick on the left side of the screen, and buttons on the right side.

Upgrades: During the game you have the opportunity to upgrade your character extensively.

Weapons: In addition to swords you have several firearms available.

Bloodstroke will be available at the end of the year for iOS.
Pricing is unknown, but it will be paid game.
It looks like game has IAPs, how good or bad they are implemented remains to be seen.

Info was taken from description of first video (in German) and commentary.
I will correct if something is wrong when more information becomes available.

Personal thoughts
I love the art style but that "pay to continue" after you die looks sketchy to me amongst other "pay to" things..

Silly humans and your 4 dimensions. WE have 7...hundred thousandths!!! (:

Looking wicked and bloody. Love the art-style and the defense-type gameplay in a pseudo-runner progression. And to top it off, John Woo.

I really like Moon Shark's Verticus too, so i hope they do a good job here as well.

I saw their logo on main menu screen, but there is no info on their website at the moment, funny thing is AppAdvice basically copied what I wrote without checking for more details xD

And here are some more details:
Game will be announced at Pax
Protagonists name is Mai Lee
Release date is October
At Gamescom Chillingo showcased other games for iOS: Feed Me Oil 2, Find the Line & Max Steel (this one is coming soon)

Basically, if you see pigeons/doves used in slo mo in a sort of action/beauty shot to highlight some scenes, that is a John Woo film.

Even Bloodstroke's intro has them birdies.

Also, dual pistols. John Woo made them mainstream in today's action films.
