Skeet and trap shooting enthusiast all around the world praise Clay Hunt for it's realistic physics and authenticity:

"I shoot trap on a regular basis and have been looking for a realistic clay shooting game. Look no further, this is it."

"Best Shooting Game App Period

"Love this game - bought it thinking it might be fun but it's far more than that - brilliant fun - always trying to beat my previous best. Play with headphones and the shotgun sound is so accurate - just like the real thing. RECOMMENDED"

"Excellent !!!! Le top !!!!!"

"Shoot clays at the weekend have been shooting about three months with some coaching. Some targets I can hit no problem, others I just cant hit. I was looking for a clay simulator to try and analyse my mistakes. I was sure my problem was reading the targets and my searching bought me to this game.
First thing I noticed was the target presentations were all familiar to me and the ones I can shoot in the real world I can shoot in the game. Targets I cant hit for real I cant hit in the game either. So I played it for four says straight learning where to place the shot for various targets at various stages of flight. Off to the range today I shot my best round ever, and I mean massive difference. Missed some fast crossers then hit them by increasing the lead a little. It has helped me build up target pictures in my head so I take them more instinctively.
Thanks for a truly useful app. I was going to spring for another lesson out of desperation, another 75 but Im going to stick with this for a while"

Check out my just released game called Clay Hunt: http://www.rantonen.net/clayhunt

Clay Hunt is a clay pigeon shooting game. What makes it interesting is that it offers all new way to shoot with iPhone.

I found out that traditional tap, tilt or virtual stick based solutions all had some problems. Tilt-based solution not being efficient with moving targets. With tap-based solution player can't see the target because his/her finger is obstructing it. And finally virtual stick just feels like it's a port from other consoles and not taking advantage of iPhone's touch screen.

I'm a passionate gamer and in the end I created a game that I enjoy. I would really appreciate to hear what others think about it.

I wouldn't say impossible Clay Hunt controls are designed to resemble shooting with a shotgun. I would say that controls should emphasize the difference shooting with a shotgun or a sniper rifle.

Calling for aspiring game criticts!

I have some spare promo codes:
EYHM7TJ4AWT6
9K4FNTFY6JXL

If you get one, please inform other user in the forum. I would also appreciate some thoughts about the game either here or in the app store.

I would like to hear opinions about things like: controls, overall quality, learning curve (is the frustration/encouragement to learn in right balance) and of course were you entertained.

ps. thanks for djflippy and DaveMc99 for posting videos and app descriptions!

So far I'm enjoying this game. The controls take some time to get used to but I am improving. Overall good game except it could use a lot more content.

Here are some suggestions:
add more guns
add more rounds of clay pidgeons
add more backgrounds
maybe add a pass and play mode to compete against friends.

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions! I've been thinking about your first three suggestions. I couldn't see any benefit having just more guns, backgrounds or rounds of clay pigeons... but... if they would come with new game modes with some cool new elements, they would certainly be justified

I really liked that pass and play mode idea! I will keep that on mind when thinking about new game modes.

"What We're Playing"

Clay Hunt got featured in iTunes "What We're Playing"!

It has given nice boost to the sales and my confidence that introducing new kind of controls was a right move.

I'm still all ears for opinions about the game and suggestions for new content. Currently I'm concentrating on tutorial to introduce the shooting controls.
