App description: Lace up your gloves and do battle with a colorful cast of hulking opponents, each with a unique fighting style. Dodge, duck, and punch your way to victory in a rousing romp of old-timey arcade boxing action! Take on Jersey Joe, Moose McGee, Super Ivan, Mean Bean, Kimber Slash, Palooka Pete, Rasta King, and more!

Play in automatically rotated landscape or portrait mode with optional orientation lock. "Retro Mode" offsets a stylized presentation with pixel art.

Pocket Boxing supports Game Center for leaderboards and achievements, and features multiple gameplay modes:

"Training" - go toe to toe with a defenseless heavy bag. Learn basic play control, defensive techniques and punches.

"Amateur Circuit" - fight past three brawlers for a shot at going pro.

"Road to the Title" - battle your way up the ranks to seize the championship belt.

"Title Defense" - battle new and returning boxers, to cement your status as a living legend.

"Time Challenge" - rematch unlocked boxers to improve your statistics, notch up opponent-specific achievements, or practice against specific opponents.

Attack with jabs, crosses, hooks, uppercuts, and body blows. Your left jab is your fastest punch. Your right hand hits harder. Fill your power meter and unleash powerful uppercuts and hooks. Keep your guard up to protect your face from jabs. Dodge or duck big punches, then unleash brutal combinations while your opponent is off balance.

Video help is available as part of the "attract mode" by staying on the splash screen.

Touch the top-right corner of the screen in-game to pause.

Compatible with iCade and MFI controllers.

Well, it's a blatant, shameless copy of Super Punch-Out, going on the video above. Not even a "rip-off," mind you, a copy. Anyone who's played the SNES game will see it immediately.

While Pocket Boxer doesn't shy away from its arcade inspirations, every asset in the game was created from scratch by professionals, including the fresnel shaded player, 3d environment, opponent sprites/portraits, ring girl, referee, sound effects, voices effects, music (for title defense mode). A lot of work went into refining the touch controls, physics, and AI, and I'm quite pleased with how it came out. The game's loaded with stat tracking, achievements, and twists. I wouldn't have bothered making this game if there was a game already in the AppStore that played like this. If I make back the money I had to spend getting the assets produced, I'll be happy as a clam.

I'll PM a promo code to the first five people that post here and name something different in the SNES game and Pocket Boxer, based on the promo video.

I'll also gladly PM a promo code to any legitimate reviewer that is a fan of this type of boxing game.

As for any TA folk that have already purchased the game, I'll send an itunes gift certificate to the first person that can prove that they've:
1) completed the "Road to the Title"
2) earned at least one "lightning bolt" for quick KOs of each opponent
3) completed the Title Defense circuit

Your game doesn't have a main character named Little Mac.

If that difference doesn't suffice.. Challenger comes up as green, which is different than the SNES version.
