The boffins at Central Planning are proud to announce SteamPunk Hockey for iPad has been conveyed to the App Store.

Exotic artisans from various points east and west of the globe have generously provided new art for the theme-driven game. ‘Time Traveller‘ and the holiday-themed ‘SteamPumpkin Hallowe’en‘ round out the current offerings to six choice backgrounds.

The fellows in Mechanics have worked both over-time and magic into the iPad offering to produce a new ‘Huddle-phonic’ sensation – up to four players may compete on the iPad electrical device! Man against robot, man against fellow man, a gutter dust-up of two against one, or equal odds for the noble-hearted.

Mechanics have also added a ‘Lucid Re-configuration Circuit’ to redraw the screen as the device is rotated in-hand. Therefore SteamPunk Hockey may be played in any orientation, laterally or vertically.

Lest we forget, the Futurists will have left a note on Central Planning’s desks – how will they have done that? – that sea change is coming to SteamPunkHockeyopolis’ competitive features.

Picked this up earlier the best hockey game now on my iPad superb and also has a four player mode . Looks and plays superbly .

SteamPunk Hockey HD is now FREE to download and play!

SPH-HD features up to four players on one device, and several background options.
Obstacles can be selected to switch up the physics and make the game more unpredictable than your average air hockey game.

This free promotion came out of my desire to try and find more players.
After setting it to free, and now almost overnight it's charting in 70 countries!

Apps Gone Free chose to promote SPH-HD in their application which really provided a critical boost.

We made the Top Ten in USA and Canada in the Games/Family/Free/iPad category, and also entered charts across the board in the top 50 for these and other countries. Blog post promotional here: steampunkhockey.com

prMac will be launching a press release in the earliest hours of 7.2.2013 to convey my astonishment (OMG ) at these events.

This is all happening completely by surprise. I'd been working on a Retina update for 2.0, so these graphics will go into this version of SPH-HD right away as an interim update.

Last year I coded most of Freq.Trigger for my client, Freq Entertainment, and learned to develop a much more sophisticated A.I. for those enemy opponents.
I'll be now updating the 'robot opponent' and improving the touch controls.

Oh yes, there are other plans afoot.
