"A brand new genre of iPad strategy games has just been been released from the creator of the popular review website iPhoneStrategyGames. Combining elements of the “Artillery” (Worms, Tanks, etc) gameplay style with strategic fleet command, “Battle Fleet” offers a new way to play and stylized graphics to match. As you take command of a fleet of World War 2 era warships in the Pacific theater of war, you must outfit your ships with your choice of weaponry and sink the opposing fleet. The game play is turn-based with a top-down viewpoint on the region surrounding your fleet.

● Control up to 3 ships, including Frigates, Destroyers, Cruisers and more.
● Arm your ships with Torpedoes, Spread Turrets and massive 14" High Explosive guns!
● Access Strategic Command support such as Airstrikes, Sabotage and Naval Minefields.
● Control the aim and power of each of your ship's guns.
● Maneuver your ships to maximize their firepower with a full broadside attack."

Looks good and was about to buy at $2.49 but has gone back to $3.99 within a day, what gives?

Needs an option to change orientation, more accurate controls when zoomed out, and the AI is a bit too good. They're super accurate at times. Other than that. Pretty well made game. Any chance of having an Age of Sails version?

The AI is pretty hard at Captain level, I've found that Lieutenant level is easier, they don't hit as often, but once you get into close range then it's all over. There's a lot of good hints in the Tutorial, like using the Spread cannon as a first shot as it's a lot easier to hit with it, then use other weapons to nail the enemy once you have a better idea of the range/angle.

Frigates and Galleons coming in a future game, but there is actually a sci-fi version in the works now, watch for that later this year
