Thanks! I've got 'stay alive long enough to finish the game' somewhere on my to-do list I'm sure. After that, who knows? QS =D
*looks at 'to do' list* Oh, I have 'Return to MotherSheep' as the last thing on the list. No date for completion though... QS =D
Just a quick thing that *just* happened! Apple has put Air Supply - Infinite on their 'Fun Runners' list! http://appstore.com/funrunners How lovely of them! QS =D
Thank you lovely human gents! I'm in shock still to be honest! I hope people will like the game! QS =D
Hey all! Good news and bad news! The good news is, I'm ploughing through this and adding and adding and adding stuff. Here's a small and early test I did for laser turrets. These will appear on later levels. So, so far, you'll have to deal with: Aliens (Lots!) Laser Turrets Laser Mines 'Bombs' UFOs Bosses I'm hoping it'll prove to be challenging as you progress through the game! The bad news is, testing all this stuff is taking forever, and there are some sections that need a lot of love! For example, I can make laser mines appear on whichever level I want right now - but it's a bit more problematic getting them to appear when a boss does (the idea is that these 'extra' obstacles are introduced during boss fights, then sprinkled around the later levels). That's just one example of course! I need to finish putting all this stuff in, test it, balance it, get some player feedback, iterate. So, what does it mean? It means this will take a little longer to finish. I'm reticent to put a date on it. I said before that the plan was to release before Easter. That's highly unlikely. 'After' Easter is more accurate (and vague! Sorry!). Sorry for the delay. It's looking like this will be my last game for a while, and I really want to go out with a bang Hope you're all well! QS =D
After Easter? That's so close! (Or dreadfully far away... . Just keep up the great work my good man ) From the looks of it, it'll be more of a "Bang Pow Kaboom!" than a bang! Quick question, will we have more than one weapon to play with, or just Sam's trusty laser gun?
It'll be noisy for sure! Right now, it's just Sam's trusty laser gun. It's all you need, really, and I personally think there's a lot of fun and variety in the game right now. Especially with the powerups and perks and options to think about too! We'll see when I play test it if anyone thinks it's an issue! If it is, I've been tinkering with the idea of making different 'bullets' for each character. That's 10 different bullet variations. So there *is* a contingency of sorts if it's an issue! Hmmm... Thanks for the feedback! It's all useful QS =D
That idea would be really cool, that way there's more to choosing a character than just cosmetics. Would add some nice depth, and more incentive to unlock them
Indeed! The plan is to tweak the 'thrust', 'gravity' and 'friction' of each character too, so they'll move slightly differently to each other. Gerty, being a robot, would be heavier than Sam, for example It's already set up to allow me to change the values based on each character. It might be subtle differences, but they will be in there! QS =D
Thank you! I would say it's my biggest and best game yet, but I'd be getting ahead of myself! It's certainly my biggest game, but only you guys can decide if it's the best Thanks again! I should get back to it! No matter how hard I try, these games don't write themselves! QS =D
Hey, I'm back! I'm still not downloading games, but I have started creeping the forums again. Looks like a lot of good work is still happening here. Here on the other end of Lent, I've affirmed my Portrait only rule, but I promise to break it for SOS.
An update! Hey all, hope you're having a fun weekend! Just a small update - I'm hoping to have something out to testers by this time next week... Eeek! Also, hope to be able to show the game to my friends to gauge their reaction - I'm meeting up with them for our monthly 'Cool Boys Boardgame Club' (CBBC) on Saturday In the meantime, I'm still plugging away, but thought I'd try my hand at something completely different today. So, rather than show you a screenshot of SOS, here's something from the future! No idea if it'll end up as a game, and no idea what format it'll be on. But it does look very pretty I think Speak soon! QS =D
Part of the impetus to finish SOS is that instead of spending a few hours on stuff like that in the pic, I can spend all my time on it! Thanks very much! It's a bit old now, but I still play it for ridiculously long periods of time every now and again! I hope you like it! QS =D
