Yeah, it's quite odd that people seem to think that money grubbing fremium games are limited to the mobile market. Fremium junk has been around for quite a while, long before the mobile market was big. We used to call them "facebook games" (farmville, mafia wars, etc) but they've been around even longer than that.

I do think that Albion Online will be pretty good about it, though. I haven't kept up with news on this game, but the last I read was that the only IAP in he game would be to purchase gold, but since everything, including the economy is created and managed by the players, there shouldn't be any paywalls. Of course, being able to buy gold will likely cause inflation, so the cost of things in game that are set by players may become so high that purchasing gold is the only way to keep up. We'll just have to see.

It looks like their founder packs (alpha/beta access passes) are selling quite well. This game is far from being axed.

WOW. This looks amazing!! The IOS is really struggling for multiplayer games.... And honestly, it isn't too difficult to picture a more mature MMO being very successful. Not everyone on IOS wants to play Candy crush or clash of the clans. IMO, the graphics don't have to be console quality, it's the gameplay that does. And I'm really excited for this :)

Because it's an upcoming game. It will be released sometime in 2016.

Currently it's not in anything. There were closed alpha tests before and another one is coming this summer. You'll have to get the 50$ or 100$ pack to get in the summer alpha though.

The test are running on PC and android, but not iOS.

the ios limitations is due to not being able to depoloy an alpha or beta build to a big number of tester.

Even the latest inclusion of testflight only allows a developer to send an unfinished version out to 1000 people which is not alot if you test an mmo. PC and Android APK distribution is limitless and alot more flexible for developers.

So i guess we will need to wait for the actual game to be release on the appstore before we can play it on ios.

If I buy a founders pack to get into Beta,
Can I play on iOS ? Or is it limited to PC?

I'm extremely disappointed that this game is ipad air 2 only. I thought this game was in development for at least 2 years until now. ipad 4 was the best ipad 2 years ago, how can it be ipad air 2 only?

Remember when all games had to be paid for and betas were free? Oh, how the times have changed... haha!
