Would love to pick this up, but growing tired of deleting and making room for these monster-sized Gameloft games. Guess that's the price I paid by getting an 8 GB and will be for the forseeable future (just can't afford to upgrade). I've already got a few games from earlier $.99 sales on my PC that I've never put on my iPod Touch yet. Well...maybe this will be another one.
Is that game universal? Getting an iPad 2 next month (hopefully) so universal matters more to me now,
No, gameloft games are specific for iphone / ipod. For the ipad there are the HD version of the same game. Hopefully most of the iphone game can be played on the ipad 2 with fullforce (need jailbreak) or with the native 2x upscale with little difference.
Yep. Gotta constantly delete new titles to just keep the free memory above 500MB. Haven't had more than 1 GB free in a long, long time, aka the first week I bought the new iPod in September.
meh. I'm not a fan of the asphalt games. The only driving game from Gameloft I ever liked was Driver.
Funny enough, that's my least favorite game involving cars by Gameloft. It's a direct port of a PS1 game in any case.
I don't see why they let you know when the price will drop ahead of time. Now, everyone who considered buying it before the 14th won't.
Maybe they're thinking about the customers for once? No, that can't be right! It's a different approach to marketing. This way, they're ensuring that the game will shoot up at a much faster rate since everyone knows the sale is coming. Consequently, they may only have to put the game on sale for a day before it hits the top 10, rather than the usual 3 days. That way, once visibility is maxed, they can raise the price back up before too many people already own the game. They even gave the span of time for once rather than stating "for a limited time." Apple's formula for calculating how the top charts work is interesting.
I think having announcement days before the actual sale can avoid pissing people off too... if not, ppl will cry "I bought this yesterday @6.99... blah blah"
Ive got the 32g iPod 4g and the way I keep my space free is all my email,Facebook, twitter etc is on page 1 then I use the other 10 pages for games and when it's full start deleting games I'm not going to play again or that are huge.
Another potential reason no one has mentioned is that perhaps they are not sacrificing much with this announcement. It is very possible that the current sales of the title are quite low, and they project that there are very few "potential purchases" they would miss. I know that I certainly would not have considered purchasing this title at that price point, but here I am, talking about it, and considering purchasing it during the sale. : )
Lol I use folders..so everything is on three pages. I'd never be able to find a game if I had 11 pages of them! 202 apps on my iPod currently, 2 being apps (aim, facebook). I keep the default apps on the first page and 9 folders on the second and third pages.
