Yes, that's understandable. I sometimes have to delete apps to update the bigger apps too. There's just too many games I want on there so I usually try to delete apps that are high-score type games rather than things that save progress. Then update. Then re-add the apps I deleted. It's a pain and I think the next "big" game I complete, I'm just going to leave most of that space available. Anyway...sorry for sidetracking the topic. Still plan on getting this later this week!
I am thinking the sale may be a way for Gameloft to advertise their new 3DS release. From watching this review and looking at the screenshots, the games look remarkably similar. I wouldn't be surprised to see a splash screen advert somewhere in the game.
Maybe, but I don't think so. The people who waited 6 months to get this $7 title for a dollar aren't the best prospects for buying a poorly-received $40 launch game on another handheld. It looks similar because that's how Gameloft works. They reuse their game engines and port them to every platform they possibly can. Asphalt is on other mobile phones like Android, has been ported to the DS several times (the downloadable DSi version is a low-res Asphalt 4 and reminded me that I'd prefer nice graphics to button-based controls), is on the Mac App Store, and is embedded in an upcoming Panasonic 3D TV. Getting the name out will probably help them, but I'd be very surprised to see a 3DS advertisement in an iPhone game.
Looks like they flipped the switch a little early. Both iPhone and iPad versions are now showing at $0.99.
My long-time #1 favorite iOS game on sale! I own all versions (incl. Mac) and played it for hours and hours, mostly bluetooth multiplayer. Don't miss that, folks! Highly recommended! I wrote a review on Asphalt 6 Adrenaline. It's German-language but you'll find lists of tracks, cars and motos.
Nice! Wasn't expecting the HD version to be on sale too...SWEET! For this price I might just have to get the other version too. Great sale...Thanks!
This is a very good and fun arcade racer, with slick graphics and lots of tracks and cars. Lots of nitro, crashes, and big air jumps. I don't see why anyone would hesitate to spend a single dollar on it. Asphalt 5 is pretty much the same thing, but it's Asphalt 6 that's on sale. If you want to demo it, there's an Audi-branded trial version. I bought both the iPhone and iPad version, as there's no reason to deliberate over 2 dollars. Asphalt 5 HD has not yet gone on sale, nor has the Mac OSX version of Asphalt 6. Just get it you bloody cheapskates.
