I highly recommend Westward. It's one of the most underrated games on the appstore in my opinion. RTS old west style game. If you like Oregon Trail you might like this.

  2. I've bought every single game (except Casino,I had that before) and now I'm done with the appstore (for this month;)).
I'm broke but I don't care, because the games are really good and that's really scarry.

Very cool, thanks! I've already told a bunch of friends so hopefully they will spend spend spend! :D

I have the solitaire and casino games already. Hmm what else do I want? Choices galore!

I already have Westward which I also recommend (as someone above me mentioned). That was a good surprise hit for me.

I'm thinking of picking up Tradewinds 2. Maybe the Sudoku game, too. Though I already have a few of those.

    Thanks for the sale!

Thanks for all the lovely feedback!

For strategy/sim fans - Tradewinds 2 and Westward are good to try.
For word game fans - Bubble Babble and Bubble Shuffle
Racing: Phaze and GTS World Racing
Combat: Hellfire and My Little Tank
    Puzzles: Glyph, OddBlob, Golden Skull
Sports: Down 4 The Count, Deluxeware Bowling and Darts.
Kids - Crazy Daisy and OddBlob are perfect for kids to play. The word games have help to improve spelling and improve vocabulary too.

There's probably something there for everyone. Hope this helps!

Are all the other non-game apps by you, too? Or is Handmark just your publisher? I bought them all! Great so far!

Yeah, the Astraware Sudoku is pretty much the standard to beat in my book. I have played / tested probably 30 - 50 Sudoku app variations from Palm platform to the iDevice, and the strongest points are that their puzzles have a hand-crafted feel to them. Also, they do a really excellent job of having the puzzles within a difficulty level all be really consistent.

To be fair, there are things that some other Sudoku apps do better, but Astraware is the overall winner. For those on the fence- buy it, you will be happy with this app.

I really like the colors too. The colors are aoft and easy on the eyes. Important to me when playing at the wee hours of the night due to insomnia.

Buy it especially now at this price. Well worth it at full price but a very sweet deal at .99.

Westward is really fun! Also love the 12-Game Solitaire app, Funkyball, but haven't opened up my Oddblob yet.

    What a fantastic sale!

Glyph is kind of "same game" variant. You have to "uncover" glyphs that are "buried" under layers of gems. So, like same game, you tap collections of gems, and they disappear. Old gems fall down, new gems appear, rinse and repeat... However, there are power ups - changing colors of gems, bombs, lightening, etc that make the game play more interesting, as well as obstacles - blocks that won't move, blocks that have to be blown up, etc.

All in all - pretty reasonable. My preference is for more traditional match 3's just FYI. For the current sale price, it is pretty fun. I am happy that I purchased it anyways. Golden Skull is another one similar as well in game play. I thought it was going to be a match 3, but it is another same game variation. I have only literally spent seconds with it, but I have never met an Atraware game I did not like.

Handmark are currently our publisher. When we launched on the App Store first, we were owned by Handmark, but from the beginning of this year, we're now an independent games studio again - owned by the two founders Howard Tomlinson & David Oakley. We continue to distribute via Handmark on the App Store and other open stores (BlackBerry App World, Ovi, Android Market etc), but the marketing for our games is handled by us at Astraware.

Hope this explains things a little.

  15. Crap. Totally missed out on this one -- didn't see the thread 'til now, and of course, I'm 4-1/2 hours late to the party. Oh well. :p

I did end up picking up Astraware Sudoku and Tradewinds 2. Thank you for the sale. I do actually prefer a different Sudoku app, but I also found this one quite enjoyable as well.

The other one I have is timed and score-based, which I really like. On the other hand, Astraware Sudoku is very leisurely and I can take all the time I want. Kind of nice on the higher difficulties. Of course, I can do that with the other app, as well, but I do strive for a faster time.

Because Astraware Sudoku has rows for both the final answer and your possible choice list, I too often found myself accidentally hitting the final answer button rather than hitting the button for a possible number. This, to me, is the one drawback of this app.

I'm afraid I will never see my Touch again once my wife finds this on it. :) This version DEFINITELY seems like her style.

Some suggestions: Stats for total play time and best times.

Did you play Puzzle of the Day - that's timed, with penalties for using hints and assistance. Once you play, submit your time and see how you rate against players round the world!

I'll feedback your request for additional statistics!

Thanks Astraware. More stats would be great.

No, I have not yet played the game of the day, but I plan on it. I let my wife play Sudoku last night instead of me. She also found herself hitting the wrong row of numbers. I suggest putting one set of numbers above the board, and the other set remaining at the bottom. That should really help in accidentally hitting the wrong button.

In regards to the other Sudoku app I play, I am beginning to realize the point system is becoming less interesting of a feature. I am finding it more and more difficult to get higher scores, so you end up reaching a point of diminishing return.

Thanks for a great app! I've already put a few hours into it. :)

I've played Astraware Suduko several times now. I have not had any problems with hitting buttons. However, I am left handed so perhaps that makes a difference.

And I think the game is awesome! I love it! It is exactly what I wanted and I love playing it.
