Insta-buy for me. Definitely the game I am looking forward to the most. I whole-heartedly support efforts to bring more in-depth games to the iPad.
BG2 will be released at a later date. The sample screenshots still appear to show the desktop interface (which was a flawed interface even on desktops), I'm curious to see what sort of "platform specific interface enhancements" they'll be incorporating. For one: dialogue options in the text console would be difficult to tap accurately, which could result in making a drastic mistake.
Eh, the screenshots only show those IFF-coded circles around units and a mouse cursor. I don't think there was anything problematic about that part of the interface. More concerning is how they're going to handle all those toolbars. I expect things to work about as well as Avadon/Avernum's interface (which is to say: Pretty good, but could be better). Edit: Oh, saw the screens at http://baldursgate.com/ipad.en.html. I was looking at the screens with all the toolbars hidden away. You're right. Looks almost completely unchanged from the original release. I was hoping more would be done to streamline things. All those buttons don't need to be on-screen all the time. :/
Hmmm... Sept 18 = summer. Since the last day of summer is Sept 21 in the US, I guess *TECHNICALLY* they might make it. :/ Oh well, I'm sure it will be here before Fargoal 2. :/
You will need more than 1G of space. Right now it clocks in around 2.7G, but we have yet to do any compression. We're guessing it will hit around 1.7 G -Trent
Can't wait to play it again.. I ran into a bug several years ago, and was never able to finish the game.. Think it was actually in the beginning of the game, where I needed something to get by the big tree. but always never able to find anything searched for days, so I gave up.. So I am ready to smash the buy button the day it comes out. I do hope that the text is bigger when you need to select your dialog at the bottom..
