^^ Guess niether one of us can complain too much. We're both easily in the Top 10% of all players. I'm at #343 of 7,392. We just don't compare to the runner Gods on these forums.
This is one of those games that eventually just clicks. I was having a hard time, but kept with it. Then in one glorious run you'll just get it. The camera won't seem out of place, the buildings in front of you will project where you should jump, "eye of the tiger" will start playing in your head, and your tireless training montage will pay off in a what seems like a never ending run. Then you will get stuck on a chimney...... That's what happened to me anyways. Pro tip which someone else already stated, if you get into trouble and seem like your falling off - BOOST. It resets your jumps and gets you out of there. To carrying ladies!

This has now happened to me numerous times, even happening starting in the middle of the game. And it's really irritating. Kind of negates the reason for upgrading to the mermaid. Is anyone else having this issue? You can literally see the bolt come out of the back of your character and nothing can be killed.
This is something I don't quite understand...I had the same problem when I used an iPod touch. Too many apps would eventually lead to crashing problems, which became so severe that I gave up iOS gaming for a year. With an iPhone (and it doesn't matter if it is a 3GS or 4s) everything runs rock solid, or at very worst, crashes to the springboard with no greater ill effects afterword (my touch wouldn't boot past the apple logo; had to be put into DFU mode; would display a constantly spinning circle thingy; freeze at the lock screen; etc.) I know that iPods have traditionally had less memory, but the iPhone line must have additional safeguards put in place due to it being a telephony device.
I've reported this to the dev, and he's working on it. You don't need to restart; it fixes itself by the time you reach the next area. I think I have found the particular circumstance which causes the bug: I think it only shoots backwards when you fire a shot at a boss who is behind you while the scene is changing. In other words, when the camera is swinging back around in the aftermath of the battle (successful or not).
And then, after you have mastered this game, you'll discover that this game's version of taking an arrow in the knee is running into a chimney . I've been wondering something though...I wonder if distance and score are calculated differently when you run through the vortex. I won't spoil anything except to say that you quickly drop any thought of having mastered this game when you enter survival mode in the vortex.
Those safeguards sound quite good! I wonder what goodies are in store with the iPhone 5? I read somewhere in these forums that the new iTouch 5 has the same processor as the iPhone 4S but this person said the 4S would outperform the new iTouch in regards to pixel pushing? If so that new mini iPad is looking mighty good right now but it's all up in the air Time to delete some games now
Damn, I love this game! Haven't been so addicted to one game in a while! Seriously tempted to buy some IAPs, and I never buy IAPs! Great game!
I bumped my score up to 22,565,544 And checked the leaderboards and im still ranked 9th. Damn you people always bumping your scores higher. LOL 5th in distance at 30376.13m. My back hurt playing this run while sitting at the dining table. I bet Greyskull's 71M score gave him cramps. Hahaha! By the way, my game glitched which caused the game over. There werent any more obstacles i could jump on inside the vortex. I dunno they all just disappeared.
Hmmm... I just checked achievements and it says i now have unlocked 21 of 22, but i dont know which one was 21. Is it "Unlock Survival Mode"? Coz im pretty sure this isnt my first time playing survival mode.
I was actually smoking while doing that run. Did I always remember to flick my ashes? Can't say I did. I had an awfully dusty lap by the end of that run I'm still not quite sure how the scoring works. One thing I noticed was that boosting didn't add much distance, but did seem to increase my score quite a bit. That makes me think that (maybe) the points you earn per meter travelled is greater while in the air than while running on a surface. If so, it might be a good idea to go for longer jumps rather than quick hops in the areas where that is relatively easy, such as the rooftops.
Oh no! It seems my reporting of this working fine on my iPod 4G were false after getting a bit further into this. (about half way through the second area, after defeating the first boss) its crashing every run
Well, now I'm officially even more hooked then I was before. 'Finished' the game yesterday with the first gal, and really liked getting more backstory to the whole thing. Can't wait to unlock some of the others now and play through with them. Also tried my hand at Survival mode, and man do these games get long. Eventually died a bit after the second Chaos Golem, and looked at the clock, seems the run took about 30 minutes Scored a cool 7.5 million in the process, landing me on the 49th spot on the boards. Don't think I've ever been that high up a leaderboard before 19th in distance kinda puzzled me though. Makes me wonder what kind of scoring opportunities I'm missing out on. And finally a question about our favorite temple monster: Spoiler How the heck do you kill Barachiel's Eyes? I literally don't see his health bar diminish, not in the first fight, or the second fight. I've literally emptied 10-20 clips of the machine gun in his face, getting the grunts of him being hit, but health bar doesn't move. Grenades don't seem to have any kind of effect at all either. Do I just need to give up killing him with machine gun girl (sorry keep forgetting her name) and wait till I unlock another or?
