I did try Bullet Time, and while it's great and has some Borderlands-style to the graphics, I think Borderlands Legends needs to be an FPS, or else it'll be seen as just another rip-off, trying to cash-in from the brand.
Borderlands Legends smells like Infinity Blade + Epoch. Especially because of the mentioned cover mechanics. German magazine Der Stern says that it could be kind of a dual-stick survival shooter. Defeat waves of enemies, collect cash, upgrade your character and so on. ( http://www.stern.de/spiele/vorschau/borderlands-legends-fur-ios-entdeckt-11629.html )
Dont mind if its a twin stick shooter, just prefer missions rather than endless waves. Ideally we all want a 'mini' Borderlands FPS game but it looks like thats not going to happen sadly
Yes, that would be a massive undertaking to pull that off on iOS but then again a lot of people said that about the call of duty and Black ops zombie maps and then Dead space was amazing on iOS.... so a mini version of Borderlands could be done but it would take a lot of resources and time. I hope it is free roam, but I have a feeling it could be on rails. Hopefully we find out this Thursday and it's not just a promotional tie in for Borderlands 2 but a great game on it's own.
Thanks for the update..... Topdown perspective. I don't know if that is going to fly with me. I love fps, tps games but borderlands being a top down game.... I don't know if this is going to work???
I think this is going to be really good. This type of view will fix the control issues on games like battleheart and its clones, and with the gameplay pace that we know about borderlands, if implemented here, could be good. This might look different, but i can see great potential in this not ruining the Borderlands name. I just hope this isnt "survival mode" in an arena. Unlikely based on the 2 gameplay screenshots, but im just saying. Here's to hoping this comes out this week!
Just saw the first piece of press revealing Borderlands Legends! It's a top-down action-RPG! Think Infinity Blade Dungeons, but releasing next week. - Control all 4 characters from the original Borderlands at once - Randomly generated levels, monsters, weapons, and missions - RPG-like abilities and skills loosely based on the original Borderlands - 4.99 iPhone, 6.99 iPad
