Seeing that the update is about to come out soon, will there be a drop in price? I don't want to buy it tonight only to learn that the price drops the next day.
I don't hope so (at the moment)... 9.99$ is a bit too cheap for this game but fits into the Appstores pricings of exceptional titles.
Bronze medallions Get lots of them i Ziggurat!! Later on you get silver, gold and platinum medallions but no bronze medallions...
Best traditional and best Asian RPG on the iPhone. I see Chaos Rings as a bit of an outlier -- a different take on the RPG genre -- so I wouldn't include it in the rankings. I also don't particularly like The Quest, so that takes it off the running for me (though the game has many fans). On a 1-10 scale, I would rate it 8; if the forthcoming update takes care of all the issues that have been mentioned, I would take it up to 9. But even that's a bit misleading because there's nothing in the App Store that quite compares with it.
@square: I didn't read through the thread carefully, just a quick question: how does it look on iPad? Tolerable enough? Because some games look just a little blurry on 2X but others are pixelated and jagged and somewhat painful on the eyes.
I haven't tried it yet, but some people reported earlier in the thread that it looks good on the larger screen. There are some minor tiling imperfections that are barely noticeable on the iPhone: I assume that they would be more noticeable on an iPad. But the 2D artwork is very sharp on an iPhone screen, which usually bodes well for the iPad.
Yes thank you for the advice. Still a bit early to say, but it's already flighting high towards my most enjoyed games, despite the shortcomings (which would be pretty big for any game, and this speaks about the general quality of the story/dialogues/exploring...). And I'm not a JRPG lover.
Clear save data On the PSP-version you can save the game after the ending. Is this possible on the Iphone-version?

Buy. Definately. Best traditional JRPG. A steal for this price. Just get used to the controls and everythings fine. And I think it is just one week. Updates don't take as long as new games.
lol, like all the previous posts stated, menus are kind of annoying at first, but after getting used to it, its not that bad. Character dialog dubbing sometimes skip lines. Medal glitches won't let me upgrade my skills, saved them up unknowingly towards the beginning xD, saved up 40 bronze/silver medals, 30 gold, 21plat. Beat the game after 90hours of game play for me, definitely old school, great buy in my opinion. This is the 2nd part of the astonishia story, hope they make a sequel.
Buy it. After like 5 hours in the game menus will be second nature. I have to admit that BIG part of the problem is that there is absolutely no help in the game regarding the controls, so you have to figure out everything (like how to use medallions, gems, how to upgrade skills...). That add a lot to the frustration. After a while you'll have everything sorted out. To everyone complaining about bronze medallion bug (because of the bug I immefiately used them)...I for one am pissed to have already used them...I cannot seem to find them anymore (only gold/platinum)...so I have beautiful new and (useless) level one skills. I wish I saved those. The game is really good to make 'play just 5 minutes more' to see what's up next in the story or at the end of a dungeon....and before you know hours have passed. Despite the menus. So yes...buy it. BTW...watch out fow holes and wells. Incredibly dangerous
