Woah! Just tried the lite version. Maaaaan this is an awesome game! I have to get this, sale or no. Not a very big fan of this type, but this one is great.. (And I haven't even tried it on the iCade! Can't wait to test it out!)
Not teaser as trailer but as animated pic. It is on doragondev blog : http://doragondev.wordpress.com/2013/04/02/next-project-teaser-haven/
"DU2 wasnt exactly a financial success (too niche? too pricey? people that did get the game seem to like it though)." The apparent lack of financial success and recognition in comparison to the quality of this title is absolutely sinful. The only logical explanation is the narrow scope of this genre. Sunny, we may not have been able to get you the money you deserve, but you can put your head down at night knowing that you are responsible for making one of the most notable shooters ever with Danmaku 2. The absence of IAP shows that you aren't willing to compromise your product, and the five dollars we all paid was spent without any regret. You've earned my praise and I've got your back for pretty much anything you ever release in the future. I'm sure I can speak the same of every other shooter fan on here. It's unfortunate TA hasn't had your back in the same way
I personally hope for a Star Strikers 2, cause ever since I got my icade core, started appreciating that one alot more. Didn't play it too much before since it was iphone only, but since getting an icade core and hdmi, playing it alot more lately. I do kinda think it was a mistake to not launch DU2 at $2.99 though, think it would have gained a little more steam initially at that pricepoint. But, anyway...
Yeah I think that was definitely one of the problem, the next game will have an intro sale for sure! I still have a lot to learn in terms of marketing..
Yes, you are so right! Haha, I would love to see a future Storm Strikers 2! The colors are so amazing in that. And hopefully, the next title will be such a smash that there will be a DU 3 one day.
Personally, I think Danmaku Unlimited 2 needed more marketing. For our game, we are emailing as many review sites as we can find, posting all over forums, Twitter and Facebook but it is still not enough.
In classic mode, what's the relationship between your weapon configuration and the performance in laser mode? I'm not too sure on how damage translates and the attack pattern seems the same regardless of the configuration, even if you have 0 wide/focus/track.
Has anyone figured out the scoring system? So far, here is what I figured out: 1 graze = 16 points (1.0x multiplier) You can still graze during Trance mode's brief invincibility And from the tutorial: Destroying ships and bullets increases the multipler. Lasering everything seems like a good idea. Grazing bullets and destroying ships increases the Trance bar and your score. Grazing easy patterns boosts Trance a LOT. There are still some things I am unsure of. What does the multiplier affect? What does the Trance multiplier affect? Is the multipler applied at the end of the level or as points are gained? How does getting hit affect score and multipler? I know continuing completely resets everything.
